PRETTY AS A PICTURE...

I recently saw some gorgeous slate eyed Sasha's that belonged to someone,
they looked so lovely in a group.

So I asked Gill who I knew owned a few if she would take a photo of her girl's for me
so that I could put them on here and of course being the lovely friend that she is she
sent me a few photo's.

I had not realised now many she had! but she does love the Gotz girl's so I should not have been
surprised really.

Here they are, six in total, two of each hair colour!

Her two red's , Millar in the floral dress and Mackenzie in check dress.

Her brunette's, Tegan tartan and Mia in the Scottish dancing outfit. I am lovely these brunettes!

And finally her blondes, Robyn in the blue with hat and Madison in the green tartan.

Now A question for any of you out there who may know the answer! I have noticed that a few of these girl's and a few other's I have seen have shorter hair round their faces, can you tell me why? I discussed this with Gill and we decided that it could be because they  are meant to have their hair up in pony tails?
We would be interested to know the answer !

  1. Lovely girls, and all so beautifully dressed. I just can't decide if I would want an older Gotz girl or not, they have a very distinct look...instantly recognisable even for a newbie like me....actually maybe it is best for my paypal account if I don't get too interested in them!
I will enjoy them through your photos Dee!

  2. Sharon, I always think that (especially when you first start collecting the Sasha Dolls) the Gotz girls are rather like an acquired taste and tend to grow on you un-suspectingly until 'Hey Presto' before you know it they have wormed their way into your collection and you're hooked.
I'm definitely, like Gill, a Gotz Doll lover at heart and this is a rReally lovely group of slate eyed girls here (and now I know just who bought the brown checked Ruthsdoll's dress, seen here on Mackenzie, that I had wanted.)

As to the question about the shorter hairs framing their faces, meant for wearing in the pony tail style does sound very feasible and I have indeed had pony tailed girls with this and the extra tuft of hair at the nape of the neck (although not all of the pony tailed girls had this tuft)...but I'm pretty much sure that it isn't the correct answer as have had other dolls with this shorter hair and they definitely weren't pony tailed girls...so I'm thinking that maybe it was just one of the hair styles that they used ....but will be very interested to hear what others have to say, so will be watching this space.
    Sasha love from Kendal.

  4. I loved the Gotz dolls but my tastes have changed and I am culling most of mine. I keep going back to the early English Sashas!! As for the shorter hair I have only had one pony tail girl like this and Sarah of VS ended up with her but I do like the look of that style.

  5. i dont know for sure but this was a typical hairstyle of the 60s, that whole bobbed look with a fringe was everywhere and people with longer hair had those side bits cut shorter so they could have their hair up, either in a beehive or ponytail and still have that bobbed look from the front.......loving the pics of gills girls and im very lucky that ronnys ponytail girl came to live with me.......sarah x
