ANASTASIA IS MOVING ON....

I have decided to send my NP girl back to Shelly's to be sold.

She is a beautiful Sasha and whenever I pick her up I see why I bought her BUT I never pick her up. She is placed safely in the cupboard behind glass for safe keeping!

Which is not me, I like to use my Sasha's and Gregor's , change their clothes and send them on adventures.
So she will be off to Shelly's to arrive on Monday.

I think she's enjoyed her time here but I think she would also like to go where someone will pay her more attention.

  1. I'm guessing she's expensive then? She is very pretty.

  2. Pleased to hear that you have enjoyed having Anastasia, your first Frido Developmental NP, to stay for a while but it's a shame that because of her initial expense she is not being played with as she would like to be, and enjoying some outdoor adventures, like your other 'villagers' in that wonderfully huge, never ending garden of yours.

So, I agree, it's best for her that she ties to find another home where she will hopefully be handled and played with more.....as Sasha Morgenthar intended these dolls to be.

(I would have loved to have bought her and given her a home here with the Sasha Brood but only last week another expensive doll has wormed her way in here and beaten her to it.)

    1. Yes I wish I could find the will to use her and 'abuse' her like the others! Lol

I think If she was not so rare, ie blue eyed red head, I may not have been so worried about her.
It's not put me off Np's but maybe the end one if there is one, will be less rare and more battered!!

  3. Oh Dee, what a shame! She is so very different from the later English Sashas.

If I could afford one of the NP Sashas though, I wouldn't be able to put her away in a cabinet. These are the dolls of my childhood and I would have to play with her as much as the others.

It still amazes me that they are now so valuable. My parents always thought that they were too expensive when they first came out - they believed in spending as little as they could on toys - so I never had a Sasha of my own but my cousin Bridget had a several, including two red-heads. Had she kept them all, she could probably have a second home by selling them now, even with the way we treated some of them! I think she had 12 or maybe 11?

We decided that the red-head twins should have more individual looks as we felt sorry for them looking so alike........ so we gave one a hair cut .....and the other a liberal covering of that awful early version of fake tan cream. She came out pretty much as the majority of the young adults who used the cream on themselves did - streaky with patches of shiny skin and patches of dull, over-tanned skin.

Nobody told us off about the dolls, they were just Bridget's toys to do as she liked with, though we were told off for having brown palms, orange finger nails and having ruined the normally pristine white towels in Auntie Mollie's bathroom. Nor were we in trouble for giving George, the NP brunette boy doll, swimming lessons in the River Aire and sky diving thrills from the top of the attic stairs to the ground floor two flights down. If only Auntie M had known how greatly their value would increase over the next few decades she might have been more upset about the dolls.

So, to me, they are still fun dolls and I can't get past that. I'm sure they would love to have adventures like Hattie does. Go on.... have a quick play before she leaves you!

    1. Now Jenni If I found one or your childhood used and very abused Sasha's I would play with them even if they had cost a fair few quid! because I would not have made them any worse..lol
If Anastasia was not a rare one, I would probably be more at ease with her.
If I had sold some sasha's to buy her and not use 'real' money again I may have felt different but there you go!

  4. She's quite beautiful Dee, but I can understand how, if she's not being played with, you might feel the urge to have her adopted! I'm a bit lije this with some if my BJDs, I keep looking at them and wondering should I sell as all they are foing is looking pretty and gathering dust!!! But it's a hard decision to make!
Oh my goodness Jenni!!! You did indeed have some adventures with your cousins Sashas LOL!!!!

    1. She is indeed beautiful and I am sorely tempted to keep her but I would then play a tiny bit and put her away again! and dolls are to be played with!

So she is off and maybe I'll find one of Jenni's cousins long lost abused sasha's and give her a home full of adventures!! Lol
