LIEBSTAR- AWARD
I was tagged for the Liebstar award by Sharon of http://dambuster-sharoninspain.blogspot.co.uk/
There are a set of rules that you can see on Sharon's blog post.
The first of which is to Thank the person who dominated you, So Thank You Sharon for dominating me to spill the dolly beans :)
I am meant to pass it on to some others but I do not know nor follow too many blogs and some people would not be interested, so I am going to pass it on to YOU!
If you would like to answer the questions I have , please post your answers in the comment box at the end of this post , we'd love to hear what you have to say about this hobby we all follow :)
QUESTIONS :-
1/ WHAT DREW YOU TO THIS HOBBY?
I have always loved dolls, ever since I was old enough to hold one! I remember my mum buying me a twin dolls pram because I was obsessed with having one that could have two baby dolls in. I also had a Tressy as a teenager and used to make it clothes out of scraps of fabric. I remember my Tressy being much nicer than the ones I see for sale on ebay! lol
Then having had three daughters naturally dolls again came into my life.
When they were out at school, I would sit the dolls up and dress them if they'd been left stripped and make them comfortable, talking to them as I did this.
So dolls are what drew me to this hobby and my never ending love of them.
2/ WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST DOLL?
I do not remember my first doll but I do remember one in a check purple and white dress with a bonnet and blonde ringlets which my younger brother broke within a couple of weeks of the Christmas I received it!
My first doll as an adult was a Sasha Pintuck girl. I had loved the look of Sasha's back in the 60's but had not idea where to find or money to buy one. I had also seen some in a local department store when my first two daughters were aged about two and four and did hold a Gregor and nearly decide to buy him. I loved that he was a boy doll , looked like a boy not a baby and that he was wearing a off white sweater and jeans. But I decided that I would have to get two , one for each daughter which I could not justify the cost of, so put him back... oh yes I did ..
So one January about six years ago I was on ebay for the first time in about five years and I found a Kyra ? the red head in the white hat and coat and remembering that long ago Sasha and Gregor I decided I would bid and get her.
Well you can imagine my shock when she shot into space , price wise, and I was left empty handed!
So I went looking and found and won a Pintucks from America, I had no idea what she was other than a Sasha and by the end of the following week I owned three Sasha's and was still awaiting the arrival of the first one.
3/WHAT WAS YOUR 2015 DOLL REGRET?
I do not really do regrets, not about dolls! If I miss out on one it's usually because I am only half hearted-ly bidding on it or suddenly decide I really do not need it.
4/DID YOU SELL ANY DOLLS IN 2015?
Yes I did , I sold a few of the ones's I actually bought that year as well. At least twice a year I decide there are too many and I don't have enough room and some need to go. Or I want a doll and in order to pay for it another doll or two must leave. Sometimes I will buy a doll because it's too good to pass up or I may have changed my mind but will honour the commitment to buy.
But I try to keep my spending on dolls balanced by my selling of the dolls or their clothes.
5/DO YOUR DOLL CHARACTERS HAVE THEIR OWN THEME SONG?
No although Wolfgang is named for Mozart and Peter is named for Peter and the Wolf
6/WHAT STYLE BEST DESCRIBES YOU DOLL COLLECTION ( FANTASY, GOTH, PUNK ETC )?
My collection is indescribable ! It does not have a theme or style, it's whatever I love.
7/WHAT SORT OF AESTHETICS DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A DOLL?
I just have to love the face or find it interesting.
8/HAVE YOU BUILT OR PLAN TO BUILD ANY DIORAMAS FOR YOUR DOLLS?
Yes I have places I set out as rooms for my dolls to help with photo's and stories etc.
9/WHAT IS YOUR 2016 DOLL WISH LIST?
I do not really have a wishlist, my heart will take me where ever it needs to go. I am content to wait and see what if anything this year brings, I may feel I would like to get a certain type of doll but may get something I did not even plan on or know about at the start of the year. I just know that I will buy a doll or two :)
10/DO YOU HAVE A 'FANTASY' WISH LIST YOU WILL ONLY EVER OWN IF YOU CAME INTO MONEY?
No I do not have a wish list, if I were to come into money I honestly do not know what doll or dolls I would want to buy. I would more than likely spend my money on building a 'village ' of houses and rooms to use for my dolls of all kinds, and since I would be able to give up work i'd be able to play to my hearts content.
I once said to Dawn , that I'd make Sasha World , if I won millions, a garden filled with places for Sasha's and Gregors etc to ride the train or the big wheel, visit the shops or stop for tea! along with their Mum's and Dad's!
11/ WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE HOBBY?
I love that I have met some wonderful and friendly people, amongst them are some incredibly talented people, whose skill is amazing. The majority of people are honest , hard working and helpful and I look forward to meeting more in the future.
This hobby as also allowed me use my creative side to tell stories with my dolls. I have been a teller of stories since a child when I would make up stories for my younger sisters and then my nephew and niece and my own children. This hobby has allowed me to continue this story telling.
