INTRODUCTIONS COMMENCE..

Due to the fact I now appear to own TEN No Navel girls, it took Birdie a while to meet them all, so this is very photo heavy, refreshment may be required before you commence!

The girls all gathered outside on one of the covered benches, so Birdie could meet them and also they could see Birdie and hear what was being said!.

" Hello  I'm Mary " says Mary
Birdie looks puzzled " Mary ? are you The Mary ? "
" No that's my aunt "
" Oh "
"Hi Birdie I'm Caitlin"
" Hi Caitlin, I love your jacket "
"Thanks "

"Hello I'm Ginny and I'm a fairy "
"Hello Ginny , a fairy? "
"Hi I'm Martha, she's not a real fairy "
"Am Too!"

" She wants to be an actress " whispers Martha " and this month she's playing a fairy from A Midsummer Nights Dream "
" I see " says Birdie , really a little confused " Well " she raises her voice " She looks like a wonderful fairy " Martha and Birdie exchange a smile.

Those watching think what a nice girl Birdie is to play along with Ginny being a fairy.

Next she's meeting Wren and Raven " Oh how wonderful to have bird names! I wish I'd had a birds name !"
"Well being called Birdie's quite special " says Wren
"Yes " agrees Raven " your not named for one bird but all!"
"Oh " laughs Birdie " I didn't think of that ! Yes Birdie is right for me I love all birds"

Turning to Winter, who is next inline, Birdie gasps! " Oh my sweet lord!"
The others look at her puzzled
" It's.. it's... " she sighs and whispers " beautiful !"

The girls closest all turn to look where Birdie's looking and then they understand!

Winter is wearing a beautiful smocked dress in a fabric covered with birds!

When Birdie finally stops looking at her dress Winter introduces herself and says " You can wear it next if you want? "
Birdie's stunned " Pardon? I can? next? me ?.... wear the bird dress, really? "
The others giggle and then Birdie giggles too!
"Yes , you can wear it next , we share all our clothes, well almost all "
Birdie thinks she's found heaven! Sisters with names of birds, dresses covered in birds!.... amazing!
"When's next? " asks Birdie smiling
" Mmm Maybe next week " says Winter " I'm due a change of outfit as I've been wearing this one a while "
"Maybe you'd like to swap with me" says Birdie eagerly " I've only just put these clothes on!"
Winter laughs " Maybe tomorrow and I'll have a look through the clothes to see what takes my fancy first "
Birdie realises she's being very pushy so smiles and agrees that tomorrow is plenty soon enough to get to wear the bird dress !

Introductions over Mum gets the girls in line and takes some more photos while they are all together.

I'm thinking a  full blue eyed brunette would be a nice addition to the group , maybe....

and maybe a nice full brown eyed blonde girl... maybe...

I'm thinking this group is just fine as is...

I remember someone saying to me I'd need to collect all TWELVE ,eye and hair combinations and I remember saying I did not intend to do so ! However it appears I'm heading for the number twelve just not in the way of the traditional set !

There is just something about the No Navel's I truly find hard to resist..... watch this space......

  1. They're all lovely little girls. The No Navels have such wistful expressions and wonderfully long and thick hair. Even before I got to the end I couldn't help thinking that the Village could use another blond and brunette - just to even things out ;-)

    1. I've always felt they have an elfish /pixie look about them , which appeals to my love of all things Mystic!
I'm so pleased that you reached the same conclusion ;) and understand that it just may have to happen...maybe ;)

  2. Welcome Birdie! With so many sisters it will surely never get boring. They need to learn to be quiet if they like to observe birds with you. Certainly not an easy task with ten sisters.
Dee you must be very proud of your ten NN, they are all very beautiful!

    1. Yes they are a lively noisy bunch! :) But I'm sure Birdie can be quiet when birds are about.
I'm amazed at my TEN NN girls, they seem to have sneaked up on me! But I do love them all! :)

  3. How wonderful! Ten truly beautiful girls! I'm starting to feel that Ezri needs a companion. I don't think I've seen a Sasha blog where anyone has just ONE doll :/ xx

Your girls look so stunning - and your garden around the covered bench is very pretty too. Love the bird patterned fabric.

  6. Haha I was thinking the very same as Gregor Daddies above, even before I got further down the photos I was thinking you'd need another blond and another brunette but I honestly don't know what the difference is in the eyes! You'll have to enlighten me on 'full eyes' as they all look like they have full eyes to me!
Love the whole bunch of them though, they're all very pretty. It's so odd how I really like other people's No Navels and yet I never bonded with the one I had and she left! I must not be tempted again though! xxx

    1. Then it would seem later in the year I'll have to keep watch for the right pair of girls!. The half eyes ( yes the eyes are there in total ) but only half the eye is lined round at the top where as the full eyed girls have just the round of colour with iris and no lines.
I did not even like them when I first started out in Sasha and now I love them but not everyone does, some only like the Trendon/Frido and some do like the Gotz , it's all done to tastes and just as well if we all liked everything they'd be harder to buy ;) xx

  7. I well remember that No-navel discussion at that time (Ellen Church was involved)and us coming to that collective number 12 to include examples of the two manufacturing years of 1969 and 1970 with the three hair colours(auburn, brunette and blonde)two eye colours (brown and blue) and the two eye styles (full and sketchy.)

So, just as a matter of interest to us all....which ones are YOU missing here? 1969 full blue eyed brunette and a 1969 full brown eyed blonde?

What colour eyes did your Shelly repaint have originally... although I remember they (or one?) were/was very faint and worn so that's why you had them customised.
(PS. Wren is still MY very favourite! With Birdie and Mary in second and Winter and Martha in third place.)

    1. I remember it too! Being with Ellen C who had the full set of NN's at the time :) Since I ahve not collect them for year and eyes etc, only the dolls I've loved I don't really know without looking as to whether they are 69 or 70.
I'm wanting a full eyed Brunette /blue and a Full eyed Blonde /brown because I love the look of those combinations.

I think the Shelly repaint had brown eyes but not 100% sure but almost!
Now mine are Ginny, Martha,Ashley, Wren, Birdie and then the rest :) but it could all change!

    2. Although not a Gotz No-navel fan in the very beginning (although I came to buy three really lovely examples over time) I had always thought that the fuller painted eyes were the dolls manufactured in 1969 and the sketchier eyes in 1970 BUT that is NOT the case. Both eye styles were produced in both years and it is the FRINGE formation that dates the dolls.
The 1969 doll's have their fringes rooted separately with a slight dividing line showing whilst the 1970 dolls have their fringes cut in from a central point in the crown.
So from what I can see here Wren and Martha look to be 1969 girls and Sansa, Raven, Caitlin and Winter are 1970s girls. (Can't see enough of the rest to make a decision.)

    3. On that detail then, Caitlin, Ginny, Martha, Wren and Ashley are the 69 girls with the rest being the 70's girls.

  8. They are all gorgeous Dee, although my personal preference is for the full eye paint type form 1969.

    1. Thanks Theresa, I too like the full eye paint but some of the half painted have great personalities that I don't really notice the eye paint :0

  11. What a lovely no navel family you have now Dee. But two more would make a perfect round dozen. Of course you need two more!

    Birdie is a sweetie.
