SPRING SUNSHINE

The sun is shining and two more villagers are talking with Mr Albert!

It's Violet and Sapphire !

" Hello Mr Albert " says Violet and Sapphire together
" Why hello girls "
" We were wondering if it's time to start planting out our seedling? " asks Violet... or was it Sapphire...

" Well " says Mr Albert " I think it may be best to wait another week or maybe two "
" Really  but it's so sunny "
" Yes it is sunny but it's still very cold of a night " Mr Albert sighs " cold enough to get a frost which as you know could kill your little seedlings"

Violet looks at Sapphire , who looks at Violet " It's been very cold at night!"
" I had to ask Mum for an extra cover last night "
" I agree with Mr Albert the seedlings need to stay in the greenhouse for longer !"
" Yes at least another week or two "
" yes "

" But we could look at the seed packets and decide what else to start growing ? "
" and we need to start some weeding "
" Yes and clearing all the old rubbish "
" yes and we can look in Dad's garden books for new ideas!"

Turning back to Mr Albert , who'd been listening to the girls discussion with interest, Violet .. or it could have been Sapphire says  " Thank you so much for your help , we'd have been  so sad if our seedlings had died because we put them outside too soon "
" Yes Thank you "
" No need to thank me, I'm more than happy to talk about the weather and gardening, after all I spend all my time outside in both of them "

The girls leave Mr Albert happily discussing which job to do first, while Mr Albert puffs away on his pipe enjoying the sun on his face and wondering just whose going to visit next? It's turning out to be a very busy spring!

  2. What a lovely post, he's so helpful and yes, he knows how cold it still must be at night there, seeing as he's outside all the time....or so we believe. Maybe he does go inside at night, maybe he has a nice cosy bed inside your lovely wooden chalet? You just never know with such a clever bunny!

    1. Thank you, he would certainly know about the cold! Although I have noticed the odd lingering smell of pipe tobacco when I've been into the studio on the odd very early morning.....;) xx

  3. I completely understand how the girls feel. After a long winter, it's easy to feel a little impatient and want to push the season along. I'm itching to get out in the yard myself. Wise advice, Mr. Albert. Love the matching overalls the girls are wearing.

    1. It's amazing how a bit of sunshine can lift the spirits and fire up the mind to be getting things done!
I found the fabric on ebay and asked Ginny to make them for the girls,I'm really happy with the result, Ginnny's a wonder and worth her weigh in gold :)

  4. It is so lovely to see the beautiful twins this pretty Spring day. I am just like them wanting to plant after seeing beautiful plants for sale in our local garden center. Great advice to wait a bit to plant!

Violet and Sapphire looks wonderful in their pink floral overalls and white tops and shoes. Just so fresh and clean and Springy! I am fast becoming a Mr. Albert fan and appreciate his positive influence on the Village kids. A great post! 😊xxx

    1. It's so tempting to get outside and fill the garden with flowers but we are about to have a cold spell again, so Mr Albert's words are very wise.
I agree that Mr Albert is appearing to be a very positive influence on us all. :) xxx

  5. Lovely to see your Velvet twin gardeners, Violet and Sapphire, out in the garden again in their new colourful dungaree outfits.
You must patiently wait until the end of May girls, for planting out your flower seedlings, as their can be a hard frost during the month.

    1. They are so impatient Kendal desperate to get outside and start planting hoping to see them grow.
It's turned very cold this evening, so just as well they are waiting!
