FAR ENOUGH .....

for now on the porch. We need to go inside to get ready for the bathroom being fitted etc.

So this is porch with the cement board fitted and ready for door to go in , then be rendered and painted to match the house.

Some new light fitting were supposed to arrive today but no sign, so annoying!but they'll arrive soon I hope!

Paul's worked really hard on this and these cement board weight a ton, took three of us to lift them onto the trestles because not only are they heavy but wobbly , so bend in the middle if only one person each end. then after being cut down , once I'd helped him get them in place, Paul had to lift them on his own with only a little help from me.

Paul looking pleased he gets a few days rest!

So now a few days off before the next round of jobs that need doing!.

From this ...

to this in five days.. not bad going.

And just in time for the day of rain we are getting today! Although the paper underneath is water and wind proof, it's good to know it's got it's top all weather coat on now it's raining!.

  1. Enjoy your rest Paul and Percy. A very good job done so far...(although as I said in the beginning I would have preferred it to be enclosed in double glazed glass as I love looking into glassed porches.)
Are you leaving the original front door and its adjacent wall in place as such or removing them to increase your hall space?

    1. I'm sure they will enjoy the rest!It won't be a porch once it's finished Kendal it will be part of the house, so if it was glass people would be able to see us waking about and taking off /putting on our coats and shoes etc.
The original front door will be removed but the wall at the side of it cannot be as it supports the roof of the house but it will be plastered to appear as part of the inside of the house.

  2. Brilliant work. No wonder Paul looks so slim and fit with all that hard work he does. Hope you both enjoy a well-earned rest - not to mention Percy the apprentice!
