HOW WE DO LOVE A GOOD PROP!

Well I do ! I really do! Nothing makes me smile so much, as when I buy something that I believe will be just right for the dolls in the village. and it arrives and lives up to the job!

I saw this Triang 1950's doll's larder on Ebay and checked it over then moved on , but then went back and made an offer, which was refused almost instantly, so must have been one of those auto refusal's. So carried on my merry way. But I did put it in my watching.

Then the next day it had dropped in price.....mm... so I put in another offer and this time it was accepted!!

And it arrived today.

This is it on arrival. It needs a new hinge on the top right door and some cupboard door handles and of course a good wash to get off the marks where someone used sellotape to stick the doors closed.

and here it is after it's had a good wash to remove the marks and I have pulled out the shelf.

I tried a couple of the dresser items on it.

Here you can see Meredith beside it holding her whisk ready to start baking! I've had to tell her she'll need to wait awhile.

Then I just had to grab a few things to try out the larder cupboards.

A good place for the biscuit tins!

The bottom cupboard is very deep as are the two drawers.

I also thought it would work well with some of my other dolls , like this Zwergnase girl.

So perfect prop for the village, happy happy happy....

  1. Oooh, I'm envious! I've been in prop mood myself lately. I love the color and that pull out will be very handy for rolling out pastry dough. I'm sure Percy could fix the door in no time at all - unless of course he's still occupied with that tower.

    1. I so love buying props! I can see the dolls having a great time using this. That's a good idea about Percy but he's been following Paul about while he prepares the ground for the folly, I think he's making notes and getting training for the tower build!

    1. Thanks :) I'm sure we have a few of the same EB pieces :) I'd love to see a photo of Merricks girlhood dress with the EB on it! Alas the one Paul made my girls is long gone and I also have no space one . I think I made need an extension on my Sasha /doll studio when I finally get it! :)
