IT'S UNBELIEVABLE !

The sun arrived and stayed all day!

Do we think Springs finally sprung? We are keeping our cards close to our chest... it could all be just a blip in the weather...

I love these Snake Head Fritillary. They do not like to be disturbed once planted but then you'll get a beautiful ever increasing display each spring.

Hattie was more than happy to show us these sweet flowers.

  1. Had just put the title 'Has Spring finally Sprung?' earlier this afternoonn to the start of a new Sasha Brood blogpost when I see this of yours on Facebook.
It's quite put me off (as I don't like copying) especially after having spent a good deal of time over the last two days taking some NEW photos!

Thinking that I might now just give it a miss and have a lazy non-Sasha Sunday ... OR wait and see how I feel about it all tomorrow.

    1. I should imagine lots of people have used those words this weekend ! I'm sure you can use that saying as your title as great minds do think alike, so they say :) I'll look forward to seeing those new photos soon.:)

    2. I guess that many people must, as you say, have used those words over time...but decided this morning to take a 'non-blogpost' Sunday and just enjoy another day of this beautiful Spring weather, as, as you already know I love this season and the Autumn months in preferenced to our basically hot Summers and cold Winters.
Will post the new photos another time. Be quite good to have a few in hand for a change.

  2. Bravo, that dress and the flowers are perfect together! Believe it or not, we are currently having a snowstorm, with up to 14" expected. The whole thing would be sad if it weren't so absurd :-(

    1. I thought so, the purple in the dress links so well with the Fritillary's.

FOURTEEN INCHES!! OMG poor you! and I thought all this rain and cold was bad! but snow and deep snow at that and in April! does not bare thinking about. I'll be hoping they miss keyed and meant 4 inches or better still it misses you completely!

  3. A very nice post of Hattie and the Snake Head Fritillary. I had not heard of this beautiful plant and so have really enjoyed your photos. We might be getting a bit of snow this week but the Spring is winning out here on Cow Creek. 😊 xxx

    1. Thank you Ginger. The Snakehead Fritillary is a bulb that enjoys a dampish position and can be very temperamental but is a joy when it flowers.
Glad to hear that Spring is winning over your way :) xx

  4. Those flowers looks beautiful, I've never seen them before. As does Hattie, the pink in her dress matches the blooms perfectly.
I hope that the good weather is there to stay, but we all know how changeable the UK weather is, unfortunately.

    1. They are one of my favourite of the spring bulbs. Hattie and her dress are a good match to the flowers.
