BEFORE AND AFTER

Back in March another Sasha collecter showed a photo of her Sasha that she'd painted the lips on.
I thought that the colour was lovely and did give the Sasha a different look.
Renate very kindly said I could show you the before and after photo's.

A beautiful face .

The after with the lips painted in a deep colour. Although some may say they should be left  alone, some times they can be painted badly and in a terrible colour, Here personally I think Renate has done a lovely job and I love the colour and look this as given this girl.

  1. What a difference. Her eyes even look different. I really have to study the pictures very carefully to convince myself it is the same girl. Very lovely and soulful.

    1. I believe that the eye's were not touched just the lips but it makes such a difference to the look of the Sasha.

  2. I have to say that I think she's beautiful with her new lips. She was lovely before but I am not a great lover of the look of lips when they've oxidised, so this for me is a really lovely new look for her.
I think she's a gorgeous looking doll and this just makes her even prettier.

  3. I agree Dee and Sharon - but have fallen foul of a Sasha purist before, for saying I liked another doll with beautifully enhanced lips . However, I am not going to keep quiet just because somebody else thinks they are more knowledgeable or have a greater right to an opinion. I think she looks great and, surprisingly, the new lips really seem to make her eyes look even more beautiful too.
I have a lovely brunette girl but her lips are putty coloured and I wish I was brave enough to repaint them. She would be gorgeous if she didn't look like an escapee from the early 70s - who remembers white lipstick? And we thought we looked so good.....!

    1. That's right Jenann you have a right to your opinion! And if you are no going to sell your brunette , then remove her putty lips and paint them! I too think the putty lips can detract from a sasha ,To me It's the eye's that I feel should not be painted unless there is a problem but then others would disagree with that statement and so they can.
I am pleased to say I never wwnt in for the white lips look in the 70's..Lol

  4. Ah, Dee!

I tried the white lipstick thing in the dead of winter when I was already a little pale and pasty looking - definitely looked like one of the undead! Another disaster that I wore with enthusiasm was loons - the hugely wide denims that were fashionable when I was in college - being short, I must have looked really stumpy, despite weighing less than 7 stone back then!

Thank goodness Sashas wear what their mums approve of! LOL

    1. Ah Jenni what we wore in the confidence of youth! Lol
At least it will give any grand children something to be amazed over!!
I agree thank goodness for Sasha's who wear what we want..well all apart from Hattie who wears whatever she likes... :)

  5. I've been looking at my brunette girl again - I know why I dislike the pale, putty-like lips now - she looks quite sickly. She either needs a course of antibiotics followed by a better diet or a touch of lipstick.

    1. Lol Yes maybe she is under fed!! or sickly...I think she needs some new lip paint to lift her spirit's :)

  6. The re-painted lips look lovely and make a fantastic difference. But how easy is this to do? For example, I guess you remove the old oxidised paint (with what?), but then what do you use?

    2. I emailed Renate and she said she did not remove paint just painted over top with acrylic paint Liquitex which you can mix and can be removed with Alcohol.
I would not paint a Np's lips but I would remove and maybe repaint a less expensive sasha's lips, or even just remove the putty colour and see what it looks like with no colour!

  7. Renate --love the way you have painted the lips on your Sasha! You do have a special touch with your Sashas when they have been abused or "over loved" by some small child.

    Thanks for sharing!
