MAY BRUNETTE OF THE MONTH

Her history from Kendal.

This is a rare Brunette Brown Cord 1966 Developmental girl who I purchased from Sashadolluk a year or so ago.

All the brunette dolls from this era originally came dressed in the Gingham outfit apart from this girl who being a ‘Special’ item produced for a Doll Fair came dressed in the Brown Cord outfit with her box specially labelled Brunette Brown Cord. (Sorry haven’t a photo of the box as it’s out in the garage somewhere on one of the shelves.)

To me she has a squarer shaped face than my other two Developmental girls (and the other dolls that I have seen manufactured at this time.) On studying the Sasha Identification Book I noticed that the very first head mould for the Frido serie dolls was sculptured by Sasha Morganthaler herself (though it does go on to say that this mould was never actually put into production) and was very similar to my doll’s but when I sent some photos of her off to Susanna Lewis she said that it would be too difficult to definitely say if this was one of the very first head moulds actually used without seeing the doll in person.

She lives here alongside all the others without any extra attention or fuss being made as ALL my dolls are treated exactly the same, certainly no favourites allowed, whatever the price or condition, and as you can see she goes ‘out and about’ with the rest of them huddled together for the journeys in large blue plastic Ikea bags.

A photo showing her squarer face?

A lovely view from the her other side

Full front photo. Kendal kindly sent a few photo's so I think we'll have a little mini photo fest!

I do love the brunette's in red.

she has quite a soft face I think.

A lovely full length shoot.

Looking very country casual !

A Shelly shoot to finish on.

Many thanks to the lovely Kendal for sharing these photo's and info about her beautiful brunette girl with us. She is definitely a Sasha of the month girl.

  1. It seems quite strange to be viewing a doll of mine here on this famous blogspot.
Many thanks Denise for choosing one of my girls to be the Sasha Village doll of the month.

'We' would like to wish all the Sasha Village blog followers a wonderful month with plenty of Sasha Doll play and a very happy birthday to all the Sasha collectors who were born in this delightful month full of blossom.

A very happy Mother's Day too to all those mothers who live in the countries which celebrate this special day during the 'Month of Mary.'

    1. Happy 'Labour Day', Kendal - in germany this is a holi-DAY.
Just learned: it's not really a holiday in the UK, but Belthane instead!

In Berlin there are usually riots, but I doesn't watch News anymore, so I'm not sure :)
(I think News in the mass media are for brainwashing us -every hour-, not for relevant and truth informations.)
Mother's day is celebrated here on the 11th of may.

  2. She's very special in my eyes. Its hard to tell in english, but she has kind of an older look.
She seems to be reaching puberty soon, that's quite ununsual for Sasha.
Thanks for sharing these precious photos!

    1. I agree , she looks closer to ten/ eleven than to five! Which is indeed unusual for a Sasha which makes her all the more specially :)

    1. We wish you also a beautiful flower filled may :)
The Np girls do all have a magic of their own but whatever the style and cost of a Sasha she is always special to one of us!
Congratulations on your first year of Sasha, you will soon learn like the rest of us that there is always something else still to learn ! :))

    1. I am not surprised that the beautiful Brunette won your calender place for March, it's a gorgeous photo of Spring taken by the extremely talented Kendal.
The daffs, the Sasha and the dress against the green of the grass , a perfect photo!
      xx

  6. She's a lovely girl - and I do think her face is a little different from that of other NPs. Kendal always finds THE outfits for her girls, just the right clothing for each one.
I have to hide her posts from my kids, in case they begin to feel neglected.

    1. She is and it does!. Yes Kendal and her girls cause many a disruption in other Sasha households where mum's are not quite so on the ball in the to die for outfit with matching all!!!
Best not to show the kids... :)

  7. She really is a beautiful girl - her face seems so alive and that hair is to die for, please tell me it's not a wig?
Thank you Dee and Kendal for giving us such a treat for May.

    1. She is beautiful and her face unique, her hair is the original rooted hair at the time of her 'birth'
It's the lovely Kendal to thank for her sharing and photography skills! :)

  8. This is a particularly lovely girl and as Rosie says, her hair is gorgeous! I like her face shape, it is indeed quite square, which is lovely. I think she looks delightful in all the different outfits that Kendal has photographed her in. She's quite perfect!
Happy 1st of May to everyone. It was a holiday here today too.....the Feast of St Joseph the Worker....there have been horrible loud fireworks going off all blooming day...driving the dogs nuts! But tomorrow is another day!
    Big hugs, Sharon xx

    1. She is and it is so rare to find a brunette of this age with such lovely hair. I think it's the shape of her face that helps make her look just that bit different from the other Np girls.
Another Holiday ! happy St .joseph the worker day to one and all, but I agree about loud fireworks not good if you have pets!!
      hugs Dee xx
