Well with today's weather of heavy rain all day, this blog post could not be better timed ! After showing you all my collection of clothes by Karen Warnaka a friend kindly sent me some photo's of her KW coat collection.
Now knowing how we all love seeing other peoples Sasha's ,Gregor's, Babies, clothes etc . I asked if I could share them with you. She very kindly said yes.
So here is her hanging rail of coats along with boots already to be donned to keep out the cold and wet. This collector's been collecting KW since she first started out so she also has this.......
this hanging rail of coats and boots, the pastels here and the dark's on the rail above! Ooo I can see a few colours I would love to add to mine!
Now being much more organised than me , she's also knitted hats and mitten's to go with her coats.
I just love how these coats all have their matching hats and mitten's , I can see I will need to get knitting ! Mind you first I'll need to find a pattern!
The matching hats and mittens for the dark's. I love the dark blue set in the left hand corner coat and hat, plus the bright red on the second row far right and the Lilac coat same place but pastel photo above! Oh All right !! I'd like them all even the one's that I already have! The button's may be different and it would save me knitting all those hats!
But since a collector likes to keep their collection that's not going to happen! But I think I will challenge myself to find a pattern and knit hats and mittens and scarves to go with each of my KW coats over the coming winter months, It's not like I don't have loads of wool waiting to be used and I can always buy some to match if I don't have the right colour.... and I have been so good and not bought any wool for ages......now where can I find a pattern.....I feel another collection coming on..... :)

I think I recognise this gorgeous collection...and want it for myself too! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely colours and those knitted hats are really really super. In fact, my kids might not need the coats but I'll take the hats please! ;)

It is quite recognisable :) I love the blend of colours and the hats and mits are so sweet. Best check out chat n snap for hats!! ;)xxx
Deletethe mittens are best knitted with 4 ply or thinner (fingering weight) rather than DK, so I hope you have some fine wool in your wool stash. There is a mittens pattern in the 3 Anne's book.
ReplyDeleteThat's good as most of my wool is 4ply plus I have some lovely Scottish fine wool in beautiful colours that could finally get used!!. Thanks for the tip about the mitten pattern.:)
Delete----- is the most organised, tidy and colour co-ordinated Sasha Collector that I know.. Afraid that I couldn't even begin to aspire to this achievement even given a million years as I seem to spend my Sasha life going/racing from one thing to another with not enough time to tidy and clear away after my playtime/blog sessions.
ReplyDeleteEach year I promise myself that I will try to get ALL my Sasha things together in one place but it never seems to happen and so, so much time is wasted trying to find a needed item.... and if not found after a short space of time I give up and the original idea is abandoned! (This is the reason why I never get around to doing Sasha rooms/set-ups or scenes for my blog!)
I'm wondering if my Sasha untidiness could stem from my teaching days when tidy classrooms were of great importance on open days/parent's evening. My solution to this was not to tidy up but to line the children and give each one a pile of the clutter to be escorted out and stored in my car until after the event when it is returned to the classroom by the same process.
(I hate to mention this but the same thing happens here today when friends etc visit.
They say that 'A leopard never changes it's spots!')
Congratulations and well done to ----- on this wonderful clothing collection and display.
PS. to Denise. I think that I'm recognising one or two of the hats, like the lilac one, as Susanna Lewis' ski hat pattern? 2 or 3 ply wool/yarn would be the best. for this project.
Alas we cannot all be organised ! Once when I was younger I was very organised but it seems to be slipping away at a rate of knots as I get older! To be tidy would be so nice as then I'd be able to find everything when I wanted it and not stop looking because it's taking too long and the photo's won't get taken!
DeleteI am trying to avoid adopting your hide/ tidy it into the boot of that car, or I could land up taking it too and from work on a daily basis and forget it's in there!
Kendal ! 2 or 3 ply!!! I thought knitting in 4 ply was small!! I don't know if I have the will to knit in an even smaller yarn......
A fantastic post Dee and I recognize the lovely lady's collection which is the ultimate in KW creations and all I can say about the colors is "YUMMY" and "Fantastic"!!!! I am amazed at the knitting skills since I do not knit at all. I am also amazed at the wonderful organization skills and I am also lacking in that area too! The photos are so easy on the eye and make me smile. Thank you for posting them and thanks too to the lovely lady collector. <3 xxx
ReplyDeletep.s. I am still laughing at Kendal's comment about the children toting piles of clutter to her car! Very resourceful and effective too! Must remember that one Kendal! :)
Thank you Ginger but I owe it all to the collector who allowed me to share her purchases :) Colour is so glorious in these Sasha items, I love the talented craftswomen in the Sasha world who allow us to buy such wonderful item for our dolls :)
DeleteDon't do it Ginger, you'll be driving about with everything in the boot/trunk and never be able to find anything ! :)xx
OK! I hear by resign from Sashadom! I can't compete with you guys.My kids are calling themselves the Oxfam Sasha family as almost all their clothing ids preowned and uncoordintated.
ReplyDeleteJenni you are not supposed to compete! It's not a competition :) It's just a collection of clothes just as you children have a collection of good quality used clothes and some new ones, remember your dolls live on a farm and therefore need practical warm clothing and no doubt look lovely in a rural countryside look , which we also like here at the Village... Dungarees are a favourite round here !:)
DeleteSimply GLORIOUS x
ReplyDeleteI have to agree! :)xx
