WORLD DOLL DAY
To celebrate World Doll Day I took all the dolls that I'd left in the armchair in the living room and
took their photo. Elfine kept getting in the way of Winter, so in the end I had to take one slightly from above, so all the dolls got a look in!
Seemed a good mix for World Doll Day and also goes to show just how many dolls get left lying about!
But I have now moved them from the chair.....

I guess I must live under a rock but I didn't know about World Doll Day - thanks for telling me. The dolls in this photo would make any collector proud. It's such a nice variety of different dolls and a pleasure to examine closely. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of those days you suddenly hear about! I was surprised just how many were waiting in the chair to be returned to their usual place!
DeleteWhat a wonderful collection of dolls! So many different kinds and all so beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteThank you I think they are all wonderful but then I would ! lol
DeleteI continue to live and learn.....!
ReplyDeleteAfraid that my dolls here only come from England, Germany and Switzerland!
Ah, some other people and their dolls are celebrating! Thanks for sharing your international collection, Dee.It looks like one of the many class group photos I have from my teaching days.
ReplyDeleteThanks also to Mildred Seeley for starting this unofficial holiday for us all back in the 80s. A great excuse for me to refuse all non-doll-related things for a day - hee hee!
It makes a good class photo a you say! I didn't realise it was Mildred Seeley who started it. Thanks for that info.
DeleteYes a day for doll play or purchase! ;)
What a great collection you left in your armchair! They look indeed like a class group photo, with the map themed table cloth and poster.
ReplyDeleteI never knew today was World Doll Day, so I spent the day with doggie related activities - thank you for telling, next year I'll know better.
Thank you alas it also proves just how untidy I am with my dolls!
DeleteI would if there's an international dog day?
I am another who lives under a rock.....I didn't know anything about World Doll Day either!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you Jenann for letting me know it was Mildred Seeley who started it! I haven't heard Mildred's name in years!
Great to see such a varied collection of dolls in your photo tribute to this special day.
I've only learned of it in the last couple of years and am usually late! So was pleased to actually remember in time this year!
DeleteYou forgot Australia Dee! Kaye Wiggs girls might have been produced in China and then sold via the USA but their designer is from Oz, so this truly is a very international collection in this photo :)
ReplyDeleteAnd a nice group too, to celebrate International Dolly Day!
xx
Oh I did n't realise she was Australian ! So another country to the list :)
