A couple of the boys are out doing a bit of Christmas shopping.
Erik looks at all the toys in the window of Fortuna's, so many things to choose from makes it hard to decide.
Robin knows what he's looking for but he just cannot see it , well not in the window.
" Let's go in and see what's inside " Robin says to his brother
Erik immediately sees some Christmas cards and starts looking at them.
Mmm they are plenty to pick, how many does he need ?
Robin spots Granny Fortuna and goes to speak to her.
" Good afternoon Granny "
" Good afternoon Robin. Shouldn't you be at school? "
" No we finished our last day this morning , so two weeks of freedom " he laughs gently.
" So what can I do for you ? " Granny asks
" I'm looking for a old fashioned panda for my sister Hattie "
"Old fashioned? "
"Yes you know a proper panda " Robin explains " you know a black and white one like a proper panda , not bright pink or green "
"So black and white ? " confirms granny " what's wrong with a nice blue and white or another colour ? "
" Oh there is nothing wrong with the bright coloured ones but Hattie loves the black and white ones best and so that's what I'd like " finishes Robin " Do you have any ? "
Before she can respond a man appears in the doorway " Delivery !" he calls
" Bring it in !" answers Granny , turning back to Robin to say " I may have one in this delivery . I have ordered lots of bears of all sorts and other animals too "
" Sorry love no can do ! We only deliver to the curb side it's down to you shopkeepers to move the goods inside "
"Do you call me love ! " exclaims Granny " Bruno go and collect the items this person is too feeble to bring inside "
" Oh Mrs ! I ain't feeble ! I'm not allowed to bring things inside ! First it's inside! then it's can you just take it into the stock room, or up the stairs or empty the boxes ! I've got other deliveries to get done today you know "
"Sh don't worry " says Bruno trying to calm him " I can bring them all in "
" Come on then I ain't got all day " says the man turning on his heel and walking away " It's only one item today anyway "
Bruno and the man vanish and after a few minutes the van drives off.
Suddenly the doorway goes dark
" Granny ! " Bruno calls " Did you order a camel ? "
" Yes amongst lots of other soft toys " confirms Granny , then continues talking to Robin " I have a new supplier ! A lovely lady Raquel Thieves, so knows everything about helping businesses make money "
" Granny !" Bruno calls again
" Bruno why are you calling me when I'm speaking to Robin !"
Bruno brings the camel into the shop and everyone turns to watch , with stunned expressions !
It doesn't take long for Granny to get her voice back " What is this? "
" A camel " states Bruno Granny gives him the look!
" What's it doing in my shop ?"
"Well you said to bring it in "
"Why it is so . . . so
"Big? " supplies Robin Granny gives him the look
Robin blushes
" Big " Granny repeats " I ordered toys not giants !"
The camel looks stunned also.
" He's too big, take him out and round to the outside store room and I'll ring Raquel and get him collected "
Bruno heads towards the door pulling the camel behind him.
" Well " Bruno says to the camel " I don't think you'll be off anywhere soon since that man said no returns when I said I'm sure you were not meant for us "
The camel says nothing
" Mind you Granny can be very determined so you may get taken back, which is a shame as I'm sure someone would love a lovely big camel for Christmas " He pulls the camel along towards the side of the shop " Lets get you into the extra storage shed before it rains "
Someone's dropped a local paper on the road.
