Just a little something so Kendal can practice her comment!
TWO OF THE THREE BAGUETTE STYLE LOAVES
A VICTORIA SPONGE
HALF OF THE BISCUITS, THE REST EATEN.....
A very productive Saturday mornings baking! And all while I was at work!! No I did not bake these at work way to busy serving the customers. No these were made by the DH who enjoys baking, finds it relaxing!!!
Comes to something when one of the girl's buy's her Dad the Emma Bridgewater Cake tins for Christmas!!!
'Here miss!'
ReplyDeleteWhoa!! Have you and Dee been ganging up on me??
DeleteRonny, you need to pay attention in class! :)
Deletebecause Kendal needs to use a pencil to type I suggested she use the above to REGISTER her attendance for your competetive entry...
Would WE do that to YOU ??????
DeleteYes....!!!
DeleteOooh yum! What a nice lot of baking to come home to Dee! Your husband has tooo many talents! I think you should hire him out!!
ReplyDeleteLovely but makes it very hard to diet!!
DeleteWhat scrumptious looking goodies! The Victoria sponge looks really light and has risen well with a good uniformity. How wonderful to come back from work to find such an appertising afternoon tea awaitng you.
ReplyDeleteI just love home cooked bread, cake and scones/biscuits and try to make the last two as often as I am able...though making bread is now proving too much for my wrists and hands.
Carpentry, gardening, paving and landscape gardening and now cookery. What a treasure and a gem of a husband you have there. Very lucky you.
A mixer with a dough hook or a bread Machine to do the kneading then into the oven would help you carry on Kendal.
DeleteHe is very much a Jack of all trades but also a master of quite a few!
also very good decorator, paper hanger, very good cook, master Archer, what can I say I can spot a man with potential :)
Are you getting your man training to appear in the next 'Great British Bake off' Dee??? Please send samples of his food to me (you know my address...can he make Walnut Whips as well :) )
ReplyDeleteHe only took up the bread and cake baking in the last few years, so would need some more experience before he tried out for that !!
DeleteHe said he cannot make walnuts whips only bounty's!!!!!! :))
Bounty's good...please ask him to make me a large one :)
DeleteIs there no end to your love of chocolate :)
DeleteErrrr...No!
Deleteyummy! Kendal, maybe get a bread making machine to do all the heavy kneading for you or a mixer with a dough hook.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby can do the carpentry, gardening etc but he doesn't get the hang of cooking, only eating ;-)
Good advice to Kendal. It's good when men have skill's and can turn their hand to things you want done.
DeleteThe Dh's is no good with car engine's or plumbing , I tell you this so that your husband's don't start writing me letters of complaint!! :)
Dee,
ReplyDeleteI'm curious -- the friendship shared by those of you who are Sasha collectors -- here on this and other blogs -- were you first friends or did that friendship develop after you shared your love of Sasha?
I love following this and other blogs --- I learn so much along the way.
Thanks for sharing and letting me have a peek at your dolls and homes.
Dee, your hubby is a "national treasure" -- take good care of him!
Betty
In answer to your question, Betty, for ME it was the Sasha Fundays at Anne-Marie's, Dawn's, Sarah Price's, Judith's (of Dollydoodles) and Marie Morgan's (never made it unfortunately to Shelly's!) and the comments to my blogspot and occasionally the buying from Sashaseamstresses that first put me in touch with all these wonderful Sasha collectors.
DeleteI was then able to meet some of my on-line/telephone friendships at the 2012 UK Festival, followed by a few of them visiting my home to see my Sasha Brood.
Hi Betty,
DeleteMy Sasha friendships started firstly through this blog and others and also from buying from sasha seamstresses, then like Kendal I have attended a couple of Sasha events where I have been able to meet them and other's with the same love of Sasha.
It's a wonderful way of meeting new people, who on the whole are honest , have a great sense of humour and are not worried that they 'play' with dolls.
Thank you for coming to share in my ramblings and see my home and dolls, hopefully one day we'll meet at a Sasha event :)
He is a Treasure and I am very good to him, I allow him to spoil me and never complain ! :)
Dee
Landscaping, baking, taking an active interest in your hobbies...umm, does he give classes or at least hints to other men? I'm off to get a bite to eat, as looking at all those yummy treats has made me a bit hungry ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say he likes to cook, he finds It relaxing!! So who am I to spoil his rest !
DeleteHe could give classes but who'd turn up!! lol
Hope you found something in the cupboard to munch on!
Don't give up work then, Dee. My DH was a wonderful cook until I retired. His skill deserted him over night and has never returned. Though a teacher, I had failed to learn the basic but important equation:
ReplyDeleteWife retired = Helpless husband
But he plays dollies, so I'll forgive him.
Jenni x
Jenni , you could cure him of that by just out lasting him on whoses getting up and putting the oven on!!Or take turn's which is what we do!
DeleteBut he can be forgiven anything if he plays dollies :)
When my husband was out of work a few years ago, he took up bread baking as a way to keep himself busy. It was a wonderful experience to come home to a house that smelled of fresh baked bread. However in the last year, he has only made bread one time - for Christmas Eve, but I'd rather have him working.
ReplyDeleteHe does not play dollies, not ever.
It just goes to show what things people can do when they have the time! but in our busy world of trying to earn a crust ,we have no time to make one!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that he is now working and made bread at Christmas.
And if all our husband's played Dollies, we would not get a look in!!!
