PICTURE TAKING IN THE COLD

I decided to try and get a photo for this year's Chat n Snap but in previous years I have had a photo already amongst my albums that was perfect for this.
I have seen someone else's photo that I really like and I may use as I am not happy with these I am about to share.

I thought I would try for them queuing to either get in or buy tickets. So I printed off a few photo's of last years sellers goods that i had available and put them on the back board along with their names.

Then because I wanted then to be outside and not fall over in the cold wind that's blowing I used under the front porch.
Which meant moving from mat and therefore showing off even after a good sweep the dirt from last year.It really needs washing but not this minute!

I tried moving Catlin into the centre with her pram full of bags to fill at the event and cakes to munch on which having her rest between spending but still not happy with the result, so It's back to the drawing board or to the photo I like.....

shot from above showing them in place, I'm going to have to go and wash that front paving now!

I am thinking of using one of Gill's girls in their sweater dresses but cannot decide between the two shown below

or

I LOVE both of these photo's due to the Sasha's shown and the beautiful bright outfits but both have different things I like...I hate it when I have to make a decision!!

  1. Get rid of the first generation GOTZ dolls and the photos would be perfect :)

    2. :) :) Giggle!
What you need this year Dee is a line up of boys waiting to get in to the CnS...because it is the FIRST T*R*E*N*D*O*N CREW MEET..............

    3. Great idea BUT only one actually lives here for the photo shoot! and his eyes may look totally different by the time it arrives!!

    4. Doesn't have to be the actual T*R*E*N*D*O*N* Crew just a line up of the boys you have to hand with maybe a couple of girls at the tail end (especially the loaded up pram love that!)
Poor boys are always treated as second class citizens...it is always about the girls :)

  2. I like the last shot. While it doesn't showcase the dolls, it does show the waiting line. I like how some of them have turned around and are chatting with each other. Maybe something similiar but instead of the posterboard backdrop a sign of some sort with a "Chat and Snap this way words and arrow"

    1. I near achieved what I wanted and the board at the back does have the words chat n snap and this way unfortunately I put it too low and it's behind the first couple of dolls!

  3. I think Julie's is a good idea! Could you make a wall using printed brickwork stuck to card and then perhaps have some posters on it and the Chat N Snap poster too?
As for Gill's photos, I like both of them but prefer the second because the light looks more natural....
I'm not much help really, am I!!!
    Big hugs Sharon xxx

    1. I need that wall of Kendal's! But I was hoping to sort the photo out quick and easy but of course I should have known better!!
I love Gill's photo's as they are in a nice long line and all look so nice but I may just have another go at doing the line outside again before I make a final decision.
      hugs Dee xx

  4. That SS is really just UNBELIEVEABLE when it comes to those poor early Gotz kids.

Just leave the front porch paving stones until the Spring! It'll only get messed up again and we all have areas like that! It's part of living!

I like Julie's suggestion of the 'This Way arrow' for purchasing your CnS tickets (or you could use your shop front as the ticket office ....OR it could be taken inside online with a computer or by phone with a telephone in the picture.) Don't get cold or wet unnecessarily!.

In any case Sarah P and I would love to buy two tickets and a sales table. Thanks a mill.

    1. I think she secretly LOVES them but is now to afraid to admit it!! :)

I'm definitely leaving cleaning those paving stones until tomorrow or the weekend but will need to do them if I try again unless I can find another area that will have the look I'm after! Just remembered we have a long old brick wall at work in the car park...but do I want the customers watching me play dolls as they walk into the bank!! ..maybe.... :)
      Sarah's already asked Kendal :)

  6. I would chose the first of Gills.
I think it's because the dolls there seems to get in touch with the viewer.
This doesn't happend in the second one.

Your own idea for the picture is great, but I think it takes more photos to finally get a perfect one.
For me the second and the last one are showing your intention best.
They perhaps only need a cut. Fe, the hidden gargoyle (?) is slightly distracting.

    1. I agree I think I prefer the first one it seems more alive if you understand which I think you do! :)
Yes the hidden gargoyle was helping to stop the wind from blowing down the back board , I will be trying again tomorrow as I have a half day. :)

    2. The letters 'Chat'nSnap' can be put into the pic after photographing. -Oh my english *sigh*-
You must not PHOTOGRAPH the word, you can put it in with Photoshop.

Perhaps this is easier to manage?
If I can help, please tell me.
