THE COFFEE TABLE

I thought I would share information and photo's of the furniture I have found for my Sasha's room setting's.

First up is the Coffee table.

I found this on Ebay being sold by a charity shop. I thought it would be a good size as a coffee table for the Sasha's and I was luckily correct!.

I would guess by the look and style and the wood used that it's been made somewhere between 1930 and the 1950's.

It as the details and feel of age to it.

It came with some small china also a good size for the Sasha's PLUS it is in fact a music box!
It plays a familiar tune but I am not sure which one!

you can see the key underneath.

The small carved detail on the top.

So when looking for piece's don't dismiss anything without checking it out and sometimes it worth taking a chance and you could come up with the perfect piece.

    1. It's all a case of trial and error, then after a while you get the hang of it. On ebay is a good source :)

    2. I got books about the english furnituring and I simply LOVE them combining old, new and worned. It's so much nore interesting to see -and expresses the personalty of the residents. I'm not into cheep, but bright (and alike) looking modern furniture :)

  3. Like Louise I'm no good at searching and give up easily if it's not found in an instant..... BUT I know, because you have told me, that you search for hours.....but are at least rewarded from what I have seen here.
MUST try harder this year to achieve a room setting for mine.

    1. I don't search for hours but I do go and check things out at least once a week in case someone's put something on that is a good size or could match what I am after.
It's just you need to look or you won't find anything!! :)

  4. Well done Dee! A perfect coffee table for your Sasha setting. I was surprised that it opens up to store things and even more surprised that it is a music box! The patina of the wood is very nice with a pretty carving too! A great find indeed! :) xxx

  5. That was a great find! I love seeing older pieces of in-scale furniture like this.

I'm always impressed when people can guess at scale online - I'm terrible about that myself, but maybe I just haven't been trying hard enough.

    1. Thank you. Sometimes you just have to see if they give measurements then try them against the doll you want them for and then hope for the best!! :)

  6. OK - When I start confusing the words there/their/they're, I just have to delete the comment and start again!

Congratulations on your coffeee table find Dee. I love the look of real wood in the Sasha homes. I don't find it too hard to locate odds and ends of doll and bear furniture, but finding somewhere to display it is another matter. My poor old bears have been collecting for about half a century now and still have no home of their own to display furniture in and the Sashas are closing the gap inquantity of pieces too.

We might need to throw out our own furniture to make room for theirs soon...... or does anybody have a large mansion they would let to us, so there is room for us all?

    1. Must be the after effects of al the New Year celebrating ;)
This is the problem we all start having as we see things that we think will be perfect for the sasha's ,bears etc and then next thing we have no space to put them!
maybe we could all club together and find a mansion with a cheap rent and have a room each?
Then we could all meet up at weekends and place Sasha's.. ;)
I'd best go check my lottery ticket... :)xx

  7. That's a cute little coffee table and as you say, perfect size for the Sashas. I have found a couple of items of furniture for other sized dolls that were intended as jewellery boxes, but most things in this bigger size seem just beyond my grasp, as I've yet to find much at all. Must try harder!
I do have a sofa that I keep meaning to try with my Sashas as it works well with my two Kaye Wiggs girls.....maybe after my family go home I will remember and try it out.
    Big hugs Sharon xxx
