SEA GRASS ?

Mabel Lucie and Millie have become firm friends being the two newcomers. They were out in the garden looking at all the work their new Mum and Dad were doing.
They had climbed onto on of the newly stained covered benches to get a better view and were happily chatting.

Suddenly they heard a cough !

They had not noticed a little silver bear sitting in a chair on the bench!

"Hello " says the bear " You must be new. I'm called Mr Mossy and I am quite famous, would you like my autograph ? "

" No thank you " says Millie having no idea what an autograph is and not sure it's something she'd want if she did !" we are just admiring the beautiful colour of Sea Grass and think Mum made a good call "
"Yes " says Mabel Lucie shyly " It's a good colour to use with the lavender "

Mossy gets up in his chair and stares down at the grass.

The girls do the same waiting to see what Mr Mossy says ..

"See grass and lavender ? " mumbles Mossy staring intently at the grass below the bench.

He sits back down in his chair and looks sadly at the girls. " I can see the grass but no lavender " he smiles kindly " you know grass is green don't you ? "
Both girls nod slowly , he carries on " and my full name is Mossy the green , so I would know all about green and therefore grass and mother nature made it that colour not Mrs Mum "

Millie turns to Mabel Lucie and whispers " Do you have any idea what he's on about? "
" Not a clue " confirms Mabel Lucie
" Maybe he's a little.....simple? " whispers Millie
Mabel Lucie nods in agreement.

Turning back to Mossy , Millie says in a cheerful voice " It was lovely chatting but we must get on "
"Lovely " confirms Mabel Lucie turning to hurry away " Bye !"
The girls hurry off.

Mossy settles back in his chair thinking about the new girls saying Mrs Mum had made the grass green ! Mind you those girls were very young and could have got confused ! Anyway he was going to enjoy some sunshine in the bear chair, he knows it's not his turn but it's not his fault if whoever's turn it is was not using it when he saw it in the house. It's much nicer out here in the sunshine..his thoughts start to slow and he starts snoring gently....

I am very pleased with the new bench colours of Lavender and Sea grass, they have had a second coat and are now waiting to go back on their bases.

The girls waiting for their photo shot on the second bench which was in the shade.

The background colour really shows off Millie's Batik dress.

Well must get back to the gardening.

  1. Oooh! Two posts in one, both wonderfu too!

Hellooooooo, St. Mossy The Green! Your nursery school, here at Bryn Derw is having an additional spring break and all the babies, except the refound Norphan, Tilly-Treasure are having a month long nap. Tilly needs surgery on her arms and then we must persuade dear Auntie Michelle to make her uniform.
Please, dear St Mossy, be kind in your opinion of the new girls. They are not lacking in knowledge and experience, they just have a different and perhaps more complex way of speaking than bears do. Bears stick to the bare facts and do not use fancy names for colours.
Do you like the repainted benches? You have to admit, Mrs. Mum chose lovely colours. And Mr Dad is workingso hard, the least you could do is hop off that chair and go and thank them. Clearly you lack the skill to xxxx I mean, you are way to important to help out, but a thank you would be nice, don't you think?

    1. Dear Bryn Derw er's
I am sure Auntie Michelle will make more uniforms for you, I give her my permission, so she has too!
I will try to be kind to them new girls but so many have arrived here lately it's hard to remember who is who and they don't know where anything is and are always asking questions , when a bear is trying to get some rest! It's hard being famous you know! I need to rest in case the Emerald decides to start glowing and send me a message or one of my fan's needs my attention!
The benches is Okay I suppose but I cannot help Mr Dad no more, He banned me because he said I was pulling up plants not weeds ! and that thank goodness I was so slow or he'd have lost his best dahlia's , I thought she was a cook?
anyway cannot chat any more my favourite programme is starting Sherlock Holmes, bye Mr Mossy your saint :)

  2. Hey Mr M - looking good
Maybe Mrs Mum is like the Queen from Alice in Wonderland, getting Mr Dad to paint the flowers.
    Just saying!

    1. Thank you, they look so much better now they have been stained.
Is it an old one? or only a couple of years old? We don't do much with it, just cut it back once in January and again in July after it's finished flowering. You could give it a feed to see if that helps.

Well it will be tidy if not weed free by the day and that's all we can manage as time is running out and 8.30 pm finishing most nights is taking a toll !
I just hope it's dry, don't want it too hot as will be out in it all day ! :)

  8. It is good to see Mossy the Green on top form again - the new girls certainly had him a bit confused with their colour chat. The newly painted seats look great - good luck for your open garden event.
