AND THEN THERE WERE SEVEN.......

I'm not sure if you know this but I am a BIG fan of the No Navels ! Once upon a time I did not even like them.....yes it's true but then as with most things Sasha I saw the light!! And now they hold a special place in my Sasha heart!

A while back Ellen Church informed me there were TWELVE no navel's in different combinations that could be collected, YES twelve. It is not my intention to own twelve but it would appear that I do have trouble resisting them !

So it should come as no surprised that another No navel girl arrived this morning to join the clan! I did try to resist but she is a brown eyed blonde, a combination I have wanted for a while, so when I saw her I resisted for about ten minutes then caved!

I have called her Sansa and she is dressed in a Vintage Sasha button smock with Gill socks and Jean Jensen shoes.

She stands very well which is always a bonus.

A close up of her face.

It's very overcast and quite cool here today but she was very good and did not complain about standing put in the garden for her photo's.

another close up, she has the most beautiful long hair.
So now there are seven ! will any more slip in I wonder ? I must say that I would love a waif with shorter hair  and in truth if I see one that's to gorgeous to resist...but I'm not after the twelve.....honest!

  1. Dee? Does Dee like No Navels? I don't think she does... does she? LOL!

Love Sansa's hair - another bonus as NNs often seem to have hair that is untidy at the bottom. She's a beauty...... NO, NO! Take them away! I can't become too keen on yet another variety of Sashas... or can I???
In the possible absence of Lady Kendal, could I ask to see her in another colour? Preferably the most awful you happen to have so that it puts me off No Navels for good. You would be doing the family finances a great deal of good....consider it an act of charity...
But, you know I have a little No nose boy on layaway? I didn't like them much , even when I was a child, but they suddenly began to appeal to me a little and, well, this could get rather expensive if I'm not careful......

    1. If I could find an awful colour I would put her in it for you! But unfortunately I don't do awful colours :) I'll see if I can find a little sack for her to put over her head but it does seem rather unfair to do such to a new member of the Village clan! She may decide she does not like it here and want to leave!!
Alas that is the problem with these Sasha! Just when you think you know the ones you like and don't like , the likes suddenly increase!!

    1. The twelve are the three hair colours with half defined eyes or full eyes for 1969 so that's six then the same for the 1970 run so that's another six! However as I have no idea whether mine are 69 or 70 if I ever had twelve they'd probably be wrong!!! Not that I want twelve....honest! :)

  3. I too found it quite hard, even with the help of Susanna's latest Identification book, to tell at first whether mine were 1969 or 1970s dolls.....as I gather that it is all to do with where the fringe starts and nothing to do with their eye paintings.

I had always been under the impression that the 1969 were the ones with the full solid eyes and the 1970s had the sketchier eye style.... BUT had a rude awakening after reading the book.

The 1969 girls have rooted fringes like the Frido dolls and a rooted centre parting to the crown (unless they were to be the ponytailed girls when they a rooted fringe but no top centre parting.)
The 1970 girls have a top centre part to the crown but no separate rooted fringes, instead their fringes were cut from the top hair rather like the mid Trendon 1975 girls.
(According to this I now have two from '69 and one from '70.)

Sansa, such an unusual and vey pretty name, looks to me to be a 1970s delightful little lass with her lovely extra long, choppy fringe..

Well at least if you do manage to achieve to buy ALL twelve of the No-navels you already have ALL the necessary dresses for each and everyone of them ready for a wonderful and colourful line up!

  4. Thank you ladies!
Hi Kendal! I thought your bloggy break might include reading them as well as adding to your own - worrying as Ronnie's break turned out to be permanent. Will miss her.

I only have the first of Susanna's books because I decided enough is enough with the ridiculous import charges here before I could order the second one. It is a shame they are not for sale in the UK directly. I bought one little outfit for Mum's Ginny doll and the import cost was more than the purchase price because of the fact that UK customs charge on the now increased US postage stamps and then Royal Mail add an extra £8 'handling fee.' It is sad as the US has a much better range of dolly stuff available but, if I have to choose between saving for a doll from Shelly's site or paying a ransom fee to our customs pirates, the doll wins by 1000%.

So, I just might have to ask you if there is any info on No Nose kids, Kendal! Thanks for telling us about the No Navel girls (were there any no navel boys?).
    J x

    2. One of our Sasha collectors indeed has a No-navel lad and he is just gorgeous.

Will look in the book to see what it says about the No-noses and get back to you. I have only ever had one of these dolls, a very pretty and petite little blonde girl with a trimmed short fringe, but she has unfortunately moved on now.

(I am actually only taking time out from posting on my own blog to try to make some time for sorting out a few of my other non-Sasha related jobs....will be back hopefully on Easter Sunday.)

  5. What a lovely new arrival at The Sasha Village and as Kendal says, such a nice and unusual name. She really is very pretty Dee and I hope that when I come to visit in October, you will have some of these girls with you so that I can see them in the flesh! Like Jen, I also never liked the no nose Gotz kids when I first started looking at Sashas but I have to say that like the No Navels, they really do grow on you, don't they!!! I honestly can't think of any Sashas that I don't like, although I do like some more than others! I wouldn't turn any of them away from my front door though!!
PS Absolutely love that red outfit too!! But yes, would love to see it also on one of your brunettes.

    1. Thank you Sharon, the name Sansa comes from the Game of thrones series.
That is the thing with Sasha's ones yopu are not to keen on suddenly appear in a new light and then it's another one to add to the list!

  6. Sansa is gorgeous Dee. I love the red outfit on her too though I would so like to see Winter in this pretty red color. I particularly appreciate Kendal's posts too--very educational :)
