LIBERTY FINALLY GETS CHANGED

Liberty my pintuck limited edition Sasha, who just also happens to be the first Sasha I ever bought, I won her on Ebay .com which is why she's called Liberty or Libby for short.

Today I finally got round to changing her out of her Village trend clothing of tights, long sleeved dress , boots and beret!.She's feeling much happier.

She's wearing the final button smock I have in a wonderful rich blue.

Her eyes are now brown having changed over the years. She reminds me of my youngest daughter who also has brown eyes and blonde hair.

Here she is standing on the cover bench in the garden and you can see she is wearing a pair of stripe socks by Sharon and Jean Jensen shoes.

another shot of this beautiful outfit by the wondrous Sarah of Vintage Sasha .

another close up.

I do love these button smock sets of Sarah's. If the weather's dry tomorrow or Sunday I may try for the photo with all of them in that are wearing these outfits! Mind you I will need to find somewhere long enough to stand them all!

  1. She is gorgeous, Dee. Love her in this shade of blue.
Now I wa...erm...NEED a Pintucks girl.... You are a terrible influence on me....far worse than Lady Kendal who, being of the aristocracy, has many dolls that I must admire from afar because, as a mere peasant farmer, they are out of my league. But a Pintucks might be a possibility.... and so might a Velvet ...and even a No Navel or two, or twelve... one day....maybe?

    1. I have always loved these pintuck girls and the blue does look so nice on her. I know what you mean about all those Sasha's out there that could do with visiting for a while! :)
Lady K does indeed have the creme de la creme of the Sasha world and us mire peasants can but share on her blog but that suits me , I have had a NP and although she was nice I did not see what the fuss was about, oops did you hear that big intake of breath!!! but that's my opinion and let's not be silly if one fell into my mitts I would not be throwing her or him out the door!!
I'm sure a Pintuck, Velvet and at least one No Navel could easily sit on your shopping list :)

  2. I have always admired the Pintucks when their eyes, due to the unstable paint used, have turned brown from the original rather bright blue, so much so ,that I searched and searched until I fouind a brown eyed one to eventually purchase. I have always liked the blonde hair/brown eyes combination both in dolls and humans.
It is their hair and style, although a wig, that I particularly like. To me they have just the right amount of hair which can be styled in so many different ways.
She is my favourite of the Trendon limited edition dolls and so was rather surprised to once learn that although 6000 were planned only 4600 were made. (Hence the available Pintucks wigs that were available on the market.)

Liberty looks really attractive and pretty in this darker blue and I love how you have added the matching hair ribbon (which IMO is just perfectly tied here for her hair style,) Sharon's srtripped socks and JJ sandals to emphasize the dress colour.

Can't wait to see the final line up of your seven No-navels and five Frido/Trendon girls, hopefully today if the forecasted rain keeps away.

    1. Apologises for the two typos, found and stripped. The print in the comment box is now much too small for my old and tired eyes.

    2. Glad you like her Kendal and that the hair ribbon looks ok! I was not to sure if it was tied in best position!
Sharon's striped sock work a treat with this outfit and nice to have another edge for it.
Kendal if I apologised for all my typos, I would never have time to write a blog post!! :)

  3. Wow, Kendal! You are a mine of information. I had no idea that there were less Pintucks than planned. That seems to have happened quite often with the limited edition runs.
I agree that the thickness of her hair is just right,. My main criticism of the Trendons beyond the tampa eyes of the later dolls, is that they have too much hair. My daughter used to call them 'those Dolly Parton dolls,' because of their big hair style. I dislike the beauty pageant look on children or dolls.

    1. Kendal is the sasha oracle ! which is great as she supply's us with info which hopefully we file away for when we need it!
The Ointucks hair being real is just perfect for a Sasha, not too thick and looks good. I did buy a spare wig from Brenda Walton at the festival but the blonde is much darker than Libby's which is a gorgeous shiny blonde like my eldest daughters hair when she was a child, so the spare wig waits in vein to be used!!! :)

    2. Ooh! LMK if you decide to sell it on because I have a bald girl looking for a darker blonde wig to suit her brown eyes.

  5. She is a beautiful girl and the blue outfit is just perfect.
Is it just me or is her face rounder than other Sashas? Perhaps it's how her hair frames the face ?
Anyway I think it gives her a 'young' look.

    1. Thanks Rosie, I think her face would look rounder if compared to a no Navel whose chins and noses are narrower, but I do not think her face is any rounder than most other Sashas.
you are right she does have a 'younger' look about her, it's strange how we see these Sashas as having different ages anything from 5 to 9 years. :)

  6. I really do like this outfit on Libby, it looks just perfect with her hair and colouring. I wanted to ask, does Sarah have that edging on the collar in light blue? It looks like it is edged and that is such a nice touch. I like that the socks work well with it too....and of course those lovely JJ shoes. I really like the Pintucks too and have often looked at them. However, I'm not overkeen on the very bright blue eyes and prefer the brown, but what I didn't realise was that the default was originally blue, I thought it was the other way around and that they changed from brown to blue. I like her wig too.
I agree with Jen that the hair on the later girls is just too thick and unnatural for a child doll. I hate dolls that have too much hair when it is of a certain consistency that makes it look synthetic. It is why I eventually removed the brunette hair on my 1979-82 Pink Dress Sasha, I just couldn't stand the really full head of hair...and yet now she is actually wearing a fuller wig than her original hair, although it is nicer because it is a lambswool wig.
Anyway, thanks so much for sharing your lovely girl, she is a pleasure on the eyes!

    1. Thanks Sharon. Yes Sarah does have a pale blue edging on the collar which gives it a lovely finish. Sarah is an excellent seamstress which is why her clothes are so sought after.
Your socks are perfect with this outfit and give another edge to it! :)
I did own a second Pintucks once with the bright blue eyes and she was lovely but I do prefer these ltered brown eyes.
I suppose as BIG hair was all the rage in the 60's and early 70's the Sasha's were only following the styles of the times but it can make them more doll like than child like at times. Belinda my 68 single fringe had big hair until I wash it and it calmed down a little.
Poor L:ibby will now probably be wearing this outfit until Autumn as she looks so nice it it!! :)
