ALL DOODLED OUT.....

Well finally it's stopped raining! And the boys are now all kitted out in their Dollydoodle gear, thanks to Judith, so I sent them out into the garden to have a run around and blow off some steam.

"Oh No!" exclaimed Ethan "Look"
"Who did that?" Demands Tristan
" I bet it was Dad! Thats our climbing tree!"
" And look what he's gone and done"

"Yeh Put some climbing thing to grow up it"
"How are we supposed to climb with that in the way!"
" Bet he'll tell us off if we break the rotten thing" moans Ethan.
Grumbling they set off to find the others.

Mum comes out and tells them to get in a line so she can take a picture of them all in their Dollydoodle gear. Then while she's getting ready to take the picture , she gets called back inside to the phone. Telling the boys to stay still and not move she hurries off.

The back door has barely closed before the boys start chatting and moving about.

The boys start chatting about things they can do now the rain has finally stopped.
" Maybe we could go camping?" says one
" It's too wet still"
"Its too cold"
"Mum will say no!"
" Dad will let us" " Mum will win that contest"
"Yeh"

The boys continue to argue over what to do now its not raining, while someone listens in!
Three of the boys go off hunting for bugs.

While the five remaining boys continue to argue over what to do, someone comes round the corner drawn by all the noise!

"Hello Lads" A very deep voice rumbles.

"Hello Drago! " call the boys , the three bug hunters rush back to see the little dragon.

"Lovely weather we've been having eh boys!" says Drago " I was just going to write to ma Aunt Ness in Scotland and invite her for a visit But now the rains stopped I'm no sure she'll come"
The boys look at the Drago in amazement!
" I've no seen much of you in the garden lately"
" It's all the rain" answers Ethan " Mum wont let us out in all the rain"
"Yes, she says we'll just tread mud all through the place and then she'll have to clean it up!"
" And that we'll get all wet and muddy and then thats more work" the boys all start talking over each other about poor old mum.
"Enough!" says the Dragon not even raising his voice, its so loud anyway " Your mothers probably correct about the mess you lot would leave behind you. Anyway I cana stand about chatting with yoose ! I have to clean out ma cavern incase the rains return and ma aunty can come ta visit"

The boys watch as Drago vanishes round the corner.

Once Drago is gone the boys all start talking
" Do you think it's the same one?"
" Could it be her?"
"I think it must be" " there is only one" " but how do you know? there could be another"
" No I'm sure he must mean his Aunt is Nessie the Loch Ness monster!" states Duncan
They all fall silent taking in his words, fancy the nephew of the Loch Ness monster living in THEIR garden!
Luckily due to the silence they hear Mum coming through the flower garden gate and all rush back into the places they were standing before she left to take her phone call.

Mum ,to put it mildly, is stunned to find the boys waiting patiently for her return She looks each of them in the eye, sure that something's  been going on while she was away! But they all smile back nicely and Toby says " Come on Mum take the picture we want to go play"
So Mum takes the picture and thanks the boys for waiting and then goes back into the house to tell Dad that shes sure those boys are up to something!....

  1. You're not going to believe this BUT this morning I had ALL my ten Gregor lads out and lined up against the brick wall in the conservatory ready to take their photo though was a bit disappointed that they all had to bundle up together due to lack of space (it was OK a couple of years ago when there was only eight of them.) After that I was just too tired to set up a 'stage' against an outside wall and 'cart' them all out and in. Another day perhaps.
Your lads were really lucky being able to run around in your garden and all so suitably dressed for this. I just love the Gregors in Dollydoodles gear. Absolutely perfect for their boyish activities and life style. Great story too. Do please let us know if Aunt Nessie comes to stay!
    Sasha love from Kendal.
