A lovely Np red.
A studio girl
Miss Lippy
Another Studio girl.
A sweet little waif.
This young Gotz girl was wearing a Ruth Hartley repro smocked dress in a lovely Lemon blend, so I got Gill who was looking at all of Kendal's girl's clothes to pull out any other's she came across.
She found this green one , looking on the short side to me ...
and this lilac and pink one which is longer.
This photo shows you how different the lengths can be over a couple of years and changes in style trends.
I love this girl with her cossette wig.
And to end we have my favourite little Kendal in the blue and Gill's Miss Lippy in the orange.
Looks like I'm on a roll here!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, it would appear so.
DeleteSS-R must be busy walking the dogs.. :)
Been down to Brighton this morning to collect Dan who is staying for the weekend, so I missed my chance again :) Well done K!!
DeleteLovely start to the day to see some super girls and 'my' little Lippy !!
Thank you :)
Has the boy not heard of the train? :)Or did you collect him and his washing?????
DeleteI am glad I have transferred my affections from Miss Lippy to another makes for less competition ! :)
He never takes the train...he likes to be driven in the mini Cooper..plus it is free :) Although judging by the amount of stuff he has bought back with him this weekend a mini BUS would have been better :)
DeleteWhat a lovely lot of photos! You are very lucky to get to go play at Kendals and I'm very jealous!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe studio girl in brown and red is amazing! And love the little waif and the little girl in the hat! Such beautiful girls....how in earth did you manage not to run off with them all!! ;)
We were very lucky to get to play at Kendal's.
DeleteI love the two studio dolls Kendal owns, she also as a baby but the girl's are my favourite and like you I love the brown and red girl'd outfit.
Hadn't realised that there were going to be yet MORE though SS-R should be pleased that there are a couple more of Miss Lippy.
ReplyDeleteThe first 'red' girl is a 1966 Frido Developmental doll, one of the first dolls that the Stockport factory produced when they were experimenting with the moulds and eye paintings. These earlier dolls are just that bit taller and have slightly larger heads and longer arms.
The first studio doll is a CIII Farmchild doll and was called Gretchen by her previous owner. She came with most of her labelled farmchild clothing which I have put away for safe keeping.
The second CI studio doll was one of the late Heddy Hicks' (a well known Sasha collector) favourite dolls which she took with her to many world wide events. I therefore named her Hedea and she was featured in the book Sasha Dolls, The History. It was this doll that the later 1990s Gotz Doll, Trudi, was based on.
Holly is a early Gotz waif with crudely painted yellow eyes.
The two dolls wondering why they didn't get to be interviewed is because they are 1968 Frido Fringe girls.
Great idea to feature those Ruthsdoll's studio doll reproduction dresses to show the changes in the lengths (and actually if you'd have taken off Ginny's green dress and one of your other even longer ones you would have seen just HOW much longer they have become of late.) The yellow dress on my doll was the first one that I never bought (and still my favourite as it looks so much like the original studio one that is shown in Dorisanne's Sasha book) the green short one was bought off Sashadolluk second hand (and one which Belle likes to wear due to it's extreme shortness) and my third lilac and pink one is more a Spring/Autumn dress being made of slightly thicker material.
Enough info me thinks so I'll sign off now and leave you all in peace.
Thanks for filling in all the details about the dolls.
DeleteMust have taken you ages with your pencil to tap that all out! You are an Angel.
Due to all the lining up and placing of the NP girl's for their interviews and then Edward and his Piano session there was not a lot of time left to take more detailed photo's of the other Sasha's and Gregors etc.
And Gill got to look all through your boxes of clothes but I only managed a glance but that's what happens when your 'blogging'!
I am so happy with the interview and other mini tales, so no complaint here :)
