SASHA CELEBRATION WEEKEND 2016

Well I spent the weekend from Friday until Sunday at the Sasha Celebration Weekend and had a wonderful time, meeting old friends and making new ones.

The time seemed to slip away with all the chatting and fun I was having. It began for me at 2.20 am on Friday morning, yes 2.20 AM, that was when we went to collect Sharon from Luton Airport !
She flew in just for the weekend , so having collected her, Paul went back off to bed while Sharon and I continued our chat from the car until nearly five am when we decided that we'd best go get some sleep!

Finally we left for the weekend at around 2.15 pm, later than planned but made good thing despite some heavy traffic along the way.

Now there were a few things going on, so I'll post a small selection at a time so you can enjoy them at your leisure, there's no need to rush a good thing :)

I'll start with the raffle that took place on Saturday afternoon.

This lad along with his trolley full of toys was donated by Rosie S and was the first prize.

These two girls were also in the raffle wit the girl in Gingham being the last prize, she was donated by Janet and  Janet had painted her eyes to those of an early np girl and re rooted her fringe.

another raffle doll.

lots of the lovely prizes, a very nice bicycle made for two at the back there!

more prizes.

a baby and yet more prizes.

yet more!

 and more.

By the time the raffle came round these tables were crowded with even more prizes

The first prize was won by Liss, who was sitting on my table, here she is getting out the next persons ticket.

The last raffle prize was won by Jonny. There were so many prizes it took a good two hours to call all the winning tickets and an wonderful amount , including £150 from the pound bazaar from the previous night, of over £1500 was raised for The save the Children fund.

So well done to everyone who donated and also bought tickets for the raffle, it was a fabulous raffle and everyone went away with a prize or two!

  1. Wow! That's quite a pile of raffle prizes! Hope you, and perhaps Elfine and her friend, won something.
Tell Elfine, my reply to her wishing for a friend post was intended to be light hearted - I really don't want a hoard of elves down here in the middle of the night, crying for vengence because I insulted their princess. We've enough problems with the mad New Agers dancing naked in the field across the lane!

    1. It was , in some ways too much, took so long to get through it all but it did generate a large sum for Charity.
I was sitting between Sharon and Janet M and I won four times! I was going to get a winning ticket to my two companions but others gave theirs , so I kept all my winnings!!
You could be too late with your half hearted apology to Elfine, she's already sent a elvish scout or two to check your place out! You best hope they decide to go play tricks on those new age hippies dancing naked..it could just save your bacon ! :)

  4. That was way too early a start to the day! mind you I had only gone to bed about an hour earlier than that as it took so long to bag up the kits for the workshop. The raffle last year was just as epic in length but lots of fun and definitely worthwhile for the sum raised for Save the Children.

    1. It was but as you yourself say , long hours do sometimes have to be done for these events. It was indeed an epic raffle but well worth the amount raised.

  5. I hadn't realised just how long the raffle took. I was so caught up in the moment and enjoying everybody's prizes. The delighted looks on peoples faces were priceless and having a last prize kept everyone on their toes, a great idea from Tricia.

  6. It never ceases to amaze me at the kindness and generosity of our Sasha collectors especially when it comes to donating to these Charity raffles ...and all on top of continually providing people like me, with such wonderful friendships and enjoyments with their Facebook photos and messages, blogspots, sales, events, fundays, visits, emails, cards, gifts and phone calls.
What more could a Sasha woman want??? Absolutely nothing imo.

  7. The raffle does take time and maybe we can think of some ways to speed it up slightly, but with a few 'nominated' winning tickets, everyone won something, which is very much the Sasha spirit I think

    1. Yes because it was so well donated to,it does mean it takes a while to call all the numbers but it also gives people a chance to catch their breath.
