INTERMISSION.....

Due to work I cannot continue with any on going story lines until  Friday, so here is a beautiful photo by Anne of the Sasha Commoneo blog,( Link in side bar ) which shows Wartburg Castle. We in the Sasha Village love Castles and in fact, all old buildings with history soaked into their walls.

This photo makes me want to go to Germany next winter armed with a camera and a very very warm coat, hat and gloves to see such beautiful sights for myself.

Many thanks to Anne for allowing me to share her photo again on here.

    'History soaked in walls'
What a great metaphor, or is it a description?

  3. I'm back enjoying the soaked in history of our ancient cottage once more, now that the heating is fixed...... but last week........not so much!!

It is a beautiful photo. Is the castle open for public viewing, Anne? Or is it still a private home?

    1. The Wartburg is the one above in the very background. (The other buildings are mansions and a hotel > Eisenach)
The castle open for public since more than hundred years. The history is very complex, you can read about (-and watch a virtual tour) on the official site:

      http://www.wartburg-eisenach.de/frame_wt.htm

The 3 grammar schools here used to have their commencement in the grand hall. (last year we were there for the last time with our youngest son :)
The 'history feeling' on the castle is indeed strong -if you are not between masses of tourist, as usual.
Now in winter it's not that bad. While photographing Sylvester, I was able to avoid them.

  4. Aa beautiful photo as it is (plus I had seen it on Sasha Commoneo's blog) I shall certainly be having a word with my/our Bank today as to this overload of banking work related activities that is causing this disruption to my Sasha Village story telling fix.
(They have already been told some years ago via THE best UK Rheumatoid Arthritic Hospital that they must not cause me any extra STRESS with letters, emails, texts etc linked to my Sasha Doll over-spendings.....but this is in-excusable to say the least!)

    1. But kendal I need to work to pay for all these Sasha and Sasha related items that keep the cogs turning to make the stories to feed the blog , so that you can come along and see it all ! Unless of course the lottery win arrives and then well......lets just say a true Village would be born!!! :)

I also like this expression, soaked in history.....Spain is also soaked in history, my house is soaked in history too but it shows itself as damp! :)
I look forward to service resuming as normal once you've finished your work for the week Dee ;)
