TUESDAY ?

 

What happened to Monday ? and for that matter Sunday? Time is whizzing along these days !

We , the royal we that is , have been working on the garden, changing this and then that's allowed me , along with the head gardener, to then decide on another change and so it's going on at the moment !

So most things are happening around the garden at the moment , the weather has been kind and played along. 

My girl's all went off to the seaside for the weekend , so we were home alone ! However I did visit with Dawn and some other Sasha friends on Sunday, where much chatting and laughing occurred , along with lovely food for lunch. Although we were slightly late due to traffic, so not a lot of savoury's left but plenty of cakes , so no problem lol.

Now for a couple of years I've been considering getting a new more comfy sofa for our day room, we have a very nice vintage style sofa in there but it's not a sofa you can get really comfy on. Well the idea popped back up in my head, so naturally I went searching to see what was about and came across a sofa I loved ! But I could not tell how big/high the seat back was, I didn't want one that was too low , so no support. So I carried on after showing Paul. 

Now since they follow your every move on Fb and anywhere on the net, suddenly an advert appeared for just the sofa I'd been looking at and after the man placed various items of furniture around it, a side table, coffee table , a lamp on a table, he sat down on it !!! I could see that the back reached the top of his shoulders ! It was perfect ! So now I needed to raise the funds !  Which alas means a couple of dolls would need to be off to new mums. 

Since I was off to Dawn's I grabbed a doll to take with me and one, that although I loved I knew could sell. Well I had hardly been at Dawn's five minutes before someone asked about her and I said I was planning on selling her and that was it ! 

Once home, on Monday I put another couple of non Sasha's up for sale and one went, so creeping closer to that sofa ! Then today I put up another Sasha and she was snapped up ! So, once the fabric samples arrives and I can see the colours , I'll be able to place my order ! It was obviously meant to be ! 

So more about the sofa in a couple of months when it arrives.

 Today's headliner is Angel, wearing a Passion for Sasha dress set with red sandals. The beautiful Angel was the second Sasha I had to sell towards the Sofa, her original outfit is still somewhere in that safe place, so she goes in the clothes she's wearing.

So three dolls have/are leaving this week , however I had bought a small non Sasha doll last week before the sofa quest reappeared in my thoughts. So three out and one in. I also splashed out on some Rosie Bloom shoes since, I had 'lost' a pair on the doll I'd just picked up and took with me. Normally I'd make sure a doll was not wear Rosie's shoes if I'm selling.

It's all about the house and garden at the moment, I still have to decide about my doll studio move, so I will try and post some photos but may be just photos and not stories for the nest few months while I sort the place out.

" So what exactly did the new boy say ? " asks Zak of well, a new boy, Jonny !

" He said that we don't need to go to school !" whispers Jonny looking quite glum " But I like school, I get to play with all my friends "

" Yes " whispers Aimi joining in " we'd really like to keep going to school "

No Idea why they are whispering Zak whispers back " I'm sure you can go to school, I'm sure Mum will insist on it in fact "

The little ones smile " Thank you " they chorus 

Meanwhile just along from the armchair more whispering is going on  . . .

" So " whispers Toby excitedly " I don't need no education? "

" Nope "

" and I definitely don't need no thought control "

" definitely not "

"and I sure don't want to get into no dark scarred caverns ! " Toby says with a shiver

" Pardon? " says Tommy loudly , seeing the others look over he drops his voice " Dark scarred caverns? "

Toby nods " that's what you said no dark scarred caverns in the class room " 

Tommy stares at Toby stunned " Ah I said dark sarcasm in the class room ! "

Toby stares back confused  then whispers " chasm ...caverns... potato... tomato ..! who cares ! no school ever again ! Wicked !!! " and with that he darts off leaving a slightly confused Tommy watching him go. 

SUNDAY SO SOON

 

Yes, I know I missed the last one ! But it's always nice to leave the doll photo post up without putting on another to move it off the top.

The weathers been wonderful, warm sunny days all week ! Which has meant we have been spending time in the garden most days. Little gardening jobs are getting done here and there but also new plans made and actioned.

I have to confess most of the new plans tend to come down to me ! Poor Paul's working on one thing only for me to arrive ,watch what's going on and then suggest something else that could also be done in that area or with something that's been removed. That's now a small tweak of removing an old trellis panel and a vigorous plant from near the side gate, to be replaced with some stained glass and a new section of trellis became a removal of the two large stained glass windows and assorted trellis pieces from the other side of that area and a revamp which is waiting to be continued on Monday ( I said to Paul last year that he shouldn't carry jobs over into the weekend , now we are retired, so that he gets a weekend ) and so far it's only cost us the price of a wooden fence post.

Today's headliner is Hattie, wearing my one and only purchase, a dress by the amazing Ginny, of A Passion for Sasha on Etsy.

Just love the style and fabric of this shirtwaister dress. Hattie of course wanted a hat and the only suitable one needed adjustment. The brim was too big, so a little snipping and a new piece of lace and a couple of flowers and she was ready for her Mary Poppins impression.

I have finally stopped knitting hats for Sasha and used almost all of the remains of leftovers apart some about five colours that were just too grey and uninteresting for me to knit! Maybe I'll use them with other yarn when I start knitting different style hats in a month or three but for now I'm done knitting hats! 

So now I'm making three Luna Lapin Rabbits! Two need to be made in time for Easter for my grandkids and the third is for me, of course :) So far I have cut out the paper pattern ! So tomorrow I must get going on them.

I've not sold anything since I've not been trying ! So no change there but I will at some stage need to get clearing things out again and also to decide once and for all am I moving up to Paul's old workshop !! I just cannot decide !

On that note I will wish you all a happy heathy week and month ahead

IT'S THE FIFTH SO DOLL PHOTO DAY

 April ! Yes it's already the fourth month of 2025 ! The sun's shinning , so is it going to be a warm and sunny year? Only time will tell, so what we do know is that it is doll photo day, so lets get started.

From Gill we have Holly and her sister on the laptop. I wonder what they are up to ?

Emailing a friend, checking out what's on offer at A Passion for Sasha ? or scrolling the internet? 

I just hope Gill's hidden her bank cards !

Over at RoRoPo , Otto and Gregor, are floating ! Floating on a rainbow cloud of softness across the garden

"This is the life !" sighs Gregor " Yes " replies Otto " Drifting across the grass of our rainbow boat " then

"WOOF" boing ! Gregor and Otto bounce up as a small puppy jumps onto their rainbow cloud of fluffiness ! 

" Okay okay Anamcara ! " giggles Otto " we know it's really your dog bed but come and join us floating 

Anamcara doesn't understand a word he's saying but he gives good belly rubs, so she climbs on and snuggles up.

Over the pond in Gregoropolis, Dan Ryan and Christian are wondering what on earth is going ! on while looking like two handsome sweater models. Although they are a little worried if they'll be able to ever buy any clothes again any time soon !  They are trusting one of the adults will get a handle on it all and save the country !

Here in the village, Tommy Rotten is telling little Jonny that he doesn't need to go to school!

" So " questions Jonny " I don't need any education because the teachers are trying to control my thoughts? "

" Exactly Jonny " Tommy agrees " They will just indoctrinate you into their beliefs and prejudices "

"Well I'm never going to school again " says Jonny

" Great!" grins Tommy " My work here is done " then he is off to cause more mischief !

APRIL AND A BOX OF HATS

So April's arrived and the sun is still shinning! According to the weather people it's also going to continue shinning all weekend and into and all of next week ! 

I have known it snow yes snow, in April, admittedly many many year ago, back when I had a waist! So I've not made any outdoor plans yet.

Since it's April, it's almost time for those wonderful doll photo day photos, so please send them in for the fifth.

Well I hit my deadline of making a hat from every mini skein by the end of March and so knitting was to be put aside for a couple of months. Mm however it appears every time I sit down, I automatically pick up the bag of leftovers and my needles, find a couple of balls that will work well together and the next thing I'm clickity clacking away ! So it looks like I'll have to knit up the leftovers before I stop !

I did however find a bigger box to store the made hats in, with some room for more! Mind you where I'm going to find space to keep such a large box for months I don't know.
