A PHOTO SHOOT FOR EASTER WEEKEND

Yesterday I took a quick few photo's to get at least one photo for the post for Easter day.

Of course I took a few to find at least one!!

Some of the girls were wearing the spring colours I wanted, yellow, green and blue. I had received another gingham checked dress in Moss green and do you think I could find where I had put it? NO!
I really must pay more attention when I put things in a safe place!!
So giving up on adding another girl to the mix I when with these four.

Sapphire and Caitlin were first to stand by the Japanese Cherry tree.

I think the colours in the dresses suit the background.

Paige and Ashley have joined the others .

a wider view , you can see the corner of the greenhouse up on the left.

so now today Monday with the weather being hopefully if they got the forecast right, the best dry day of the Easter weekend, I am off to help Paul re roof the workshop, so that my Sasha Studio will finally get closer!

Not a lot of movement in these photos apart from the camera but I thought I would share them anyway. Plus I really must do better next Easter and prepare my photo's in advance! I am sure I have at least one other yellow/lemon outfit and I finally found the other green gingham.....

I found this photo from Easter 2013 which was taken indoors.

And looking at it I have to say that I have sold on three of the outfits and THREE of the dolls...however everything else is still around.

And looking at this photo against this years ones above, I think I like this years best, being outside just adds more life to the photo I think.

  1. I think that we all experience that 'must-to-better-and-with-time-to-spare' feeling. but these special days seem to creep upon us far too quickly and so once again it's a last minute rush!
Will we ever learn? I very much doubt it as we always seem to have so many other things going on,..... never mind the additional Sasha time....and 'oh boy' they certainly require their time!

It is great seeing your Easter dressed girls out and about in your very enviable garden. I'm really enjoying seeing it all take shape again ready for another year of giving us pleasure.

Smiled at the words 'not much movement apart from the camera!' I felt like that on my last back garden photoshoot as stayed in the very same position for all the photos instead of my normal moving around!

    1. That's true Kendal, these holidays just seem to creep up on us even though we do know they are coming!
Once upon a time I was a very organised person but the older I get the worse I seem to be getting! Not sure if it' age or time!!
You'll be pleased to know I have been outside helping Paul with the roof and also taking some Sasha garden shoots for later!! :)

  2. Oh! Just noticed this last photo has now been added as I was 'publishing' my comment.
Are the three sold on dolls.....top left Anastasia, top right, Kilt girl and front row the Gregor?
Can't even begin to guess which of the three outfits are no longer with you but will have a random go......and choose the three on the back row?

  3. Yes Right on the dolls sold on but near on the clothes, middle and right outfit and the boys outfit were the ones no longer here, I love the colour and fabric of the Dress Anastasia's wearing plus the yellow smocked one by Special delivery in front.
Now I must finish my cup of tea and get back to my assistant duties with Paul and the roof!!

    1. Thanks Anne, so far all the old damp roof is oof and all the new boards are on, convinced Paul to take a 30 min break before I help him put on all the roofing felt!
So far no rain just lovely sunshine! :)

  5. Without cheating (I scrolled super-fast past Kendall's comment when I saw that she named one, confirming I was right) let's see how well I've been studying your blog. :P Let's see if I can name the 2013 dolls.

Left to right, back row: Anastasia, Belle and Nancy. Front row: Ashley, Dexter(?), Paige and Callie.

    1. TigerAnne you are completely.......correct on their names!! Well done ! I may need to ask you what some of their names are when I forget as I do on occasion if I have not had them long and no 'played' with them!:)
Yes that was Dexter who was way too minty for me! and something about his face never gelled with me, so he was soon off to pastures new! :) fickle mother that I am.. I bet my real Children are glad I didn't behave like this with them!!! :) Lucky I loved them on sight!! :)

  6. I'm so bad at outfit organising! Intention, theory and actual practical work are three different things and, right now, there are clothes everywhere - and not only Sasha clothes, either.

But your kids always look lovely and the outfits I've bought from you always look pristine. Perhaps your girls hid the things you planned for them to wear - these Sashas have a very determined streak, you know, and if they want to wear a certain thing, they'll do what it takes to make sure their wishes are adhered to.

I agree with youe thought that the outdoor photo is better The kids in your earlier photo are lovely but it looks more posed whereas the girls outside look as though you just called to them to stop walking whilst you took a picture - more natural and very bright. Great to see your lovely garden at any time but especially as a backdrop for Sashas.

Poor old Dexter - think it's the 60s/70 hairdo that doesn't work for me - like a ember of one of those awful juvenile singing groups of that era - maybe an Osmond, or something. But I'm sure he's redeemed himself and moved to a loving home. What happened with the girls? They look like Village resident material.

    1. They can appear to be well dressed ! but I am sure sometimes they hide things so that I cannot add another girl or boy to the mix therefore getting more blog time themselves!!

I must say looking at the indoor scene the outdoor ones are much more alive!

I know what you mean about the hair it can be a little like a helmet!! Even when washed it wants to head back to it's helmet style!! Anastasia was my one and only NP girl but we did not gell I liked her but could not get over the cost!! So she was sent off to someone who is more than happy to play with her and Nancy was lovely but had the mat face so again I was forever worried that I would mark her face with a greasy mitt, so she also went off to pastures new, I never worry about some of them jut the ones that are near perfect and maybe harder to find. :)xx

  8. Lovely photos Dee! It's nice to look at photos from the past and remember dolls that have been adopted by others. I call that "right" sizing. So glad you found the green dress too! :) xxx

    1. Thanks Ginger. I like looking at the old photo's and I am always surprised at how many have moved on but then they have made space for some that are now here, so ' right' sizing sounds well right! Lol, I am glad I found that other green dress , now just have to decide whose going to wear it!! :)xx
