A MEETING

Of the Fancy Nancy reading group.

It's so quiet you could hear a pin drop!

They sit reading for so long it starts to get dark.

Jenny's finished her book so sits quietly going over the story in her head.

but Belle and Paige are still deeply engrossed .

It's starting to get hard to read as the light begins to fade.

So Belle puts the lamp on and Jenny goes and returns with a drink for them all and a biscuit.

Then it's back to reading and daydreaming!

silence reigns...

Jenny wonders whether to start a new Nancy Drew story? Took's getting fed up of just looking at the same picture on the front of Jenny's book.

Belle is reading The show Must Go On!

Paige is reading Pajama Day her favourite story.

Jenny and Took have finished reading  Every Day Is Earth Day.

I think they need more Fancy Nancy books to read as they've read these ones so many time now.

A look at the girls from across the kitchen .

I'd quite like to be able to join them! alas there's no room... ;)

  1. There's nothing like getting caught up in a good book, and what a nice, cozy reading area. I like the last two pictures showing us readers 'where the magic happens'. It's like a backstage tour.

    1. Exactly we love reading here in the Sasha Village. :)

I thought it would be nice to share them as they look so cosy and yes just like a stage set :)

  2. They definitely need more books to encourage them to keep reading. It's such a shame how many folks don't know how wonderful it is to read a good book.

    1. Alas they are the on;y Fancy Nancy books that are small, so they'll have to read some other's work. We love reading here at the Sasha village and it's a shame that people don't read as much these days, a Kindle can never replace the feel of a good book in your hands.

  3. I about fell over when the lamp lit up! What a lovely lounge to sit in and read. It's no wonder the girls spend hours there; I wouldn't want to leave either. It was great fun to see the set from a distance; thanks for sharing that. It must be a pleasure for you to sit across the room and admire it!

    1. :)) It would be nice if we could join them. The area I use is in the kitchen by the boiler. So I can see it whenever I go in and whenever I sit at the kitchen table.

  4. What a great post! It is good to see the girls reading and wanting to read more. I absolutely love your lamp that lights up!!! Where ever did you find it? I am enjoying looking and relooking at the photos to take in all the details of their living area. I bet you love looking across the kitchen. A wonderful view there! 😊 xxx

    1. Thanks Ginger. The lamp is one I found in a local dig superstore,I thought it would make a great standard lamp and it did!
I have to agree that I love seeing them in their room whenever I'm in the kitchen 😀Xx

  5. I used to love to curl up comfortably with a good book and drinks and tempting snacks to hand but unfortunately the eyes nowadays find this rather hard to do so have had to give up this enjoyable activity.
    Loving that standard lamp.
Was sorry to hear that, but as I had predicted, the new Sasha studio wasn't used as much as you thought it would be. It is so much easier to have a set up much closer to hand.

    1. It's a lovely thing to do. Maybe you could listen to some book cd's while curled up with the tea and biscuits? even better as someone reads to you!
True it's not that it's that far away , more that I have too much stuff and need to be able to leave room settings in place.
It would be much better though closer to the house :)

    1. Thanks :) I do love seeing dolls reading :) I thought it would be helpful to see why there's always pipes in the corner top right of the photo's ! :)

  7. Such a lovely room setting, and so peaceful and quiet with all that reading going on.
Dee, who is Took? He looks so cute but what sort of creature is he? The little knobbly things on his head made me think he was a giraffe but he also has the sweet look of a little furry alien!
    PS Love those books!
