DREAMING BIG!

Percy and Erik are in the carport scouting out wood!

"This looks promising!" says Percy " there are quite a few off cuts which means they are going spare!"

Percy starts measuring to see if the pieces are the right size.

"It's not very tall ? " questions Erik
"No but it is long , so we can stand it upright!" replies Percy " But there is a problem "
"What? "
"I don't think it's waterproof!" Percy looks round " that is !" he heads off down the way

"This would be perfect, it's big and it's waterproof " he tells Erik.

"It's waterproof? " asks Erik
"Yes "
"Any good for making a long ship ? " asks Erik hopefully
"No"
"Oh " says Erik sadly

" One thing at a time " says Percy " your long ship will take a lot and I mean a lot of work"

"I'd help!"
"I know but the tower will be quicker trust me!"

"Okay " says Erik but he's not giving up.. ever! " What now? "
" Now we need to find a site to build it on!"

"Lets go check the garden " the boys go back through the gate and into the garden.

"This is the perfect spot!" crows Percy
"Perfect!" agrees Erik
" Great space, already got a solid base and  we can see the enemy coming !"
"Yep!"
" Just one small problem " sighs Percy

" Mum may be willing to move her pot and it's stand " says Percy hopefully
" I don't think she'll agree " sighs Erik " It's been there a long time and she says it's a focus.. I'm mean focal point"
"Well we'll keep this as our number one site but lets keep looking " says Percy never one to give up easily .

"Well this is a possible place " says Percy pointing to the corner.

" It's empty for a start and overgrown by that old rose " says Erik
"Oh that can easily be moved or cut back" Percy continues.

"May be a bit of a squeeze getting past it thought!" Erik points out
"Okay , lets say it's a maybe "

" Now this is a good space !" says Erik
"Yes " agrees Percy, " I'd say it's bigger than the last space, more room to get past "
"Well that's got to be a plus then " smiles Erik

"And that old roman's head can go down in the last spot!" grins Erik " so this space would be empty!"
" Yes It could just work " confirms Percy " I'd need to do some measuring to check but this is defo number two on our wanted list!"

"Come on, we need to plan how we approach Mum about moving her old pots and things" says Percy  hurrying back towards the house.

They pause in they flower garden " You know right where we're standing w.... "
"You can stop right there " says Erik " There is no way Mum's going to let us build our Tower Castle in the middle of her flower garden!"

"You're right " laughs Percy " so you'd best help me think of some really really good reason for her to move that old pot "
"Or the Roman's head "
"Yes or that old head " Percy starts on towards the house " We'd best make a plan!"

  1. Lots of planning going on here, I agree that the spot in that corner looks just perfect for a fort or castle. You do have a nice lot of wood there too, I just hope that it's actually going 'spare'!! Or the boys are going to be very disappointed if Dad needs it for something.
I hope mum is happy to move a few things about for them!

    1. Thanks Auntie Sharon :) we are hoping Mum will agree to move that old pot but if not the second place would be good.
We don't think Dad needs that old wood so we are going to ask him today and see what happens! Erik & Percy

  2. Oh dear, I think I need to keep the boys from seeing this post. It will give them too many ideas ;-) I do agree that a tower would look very striking - a garden 'folly'.

  4. What lovely boys, how could anyone refuse them a fort to play in. I hope they can have the wood and Dad can help them build it. How lucky they would be :)

  6. Think big, boys! I believe the place in the flower garden is the best - maybe you can convince Dad that a tower on that spot might become a focal point?
My boys are complaining we need a larger garden.
