I FEEL A RE ROOT COMING......

Another wig arrived for Cornelia to try. This one was very cheap £6 plus £4 postage but I thought It might
be a good one.

This is longer than I thought it would be, It had looked more shoulder length in the photo on ebay, it was not shown on a doll.

I also thought it was a darker colour but the colour is nice,

 A back view.

It's a lovely colour but does not appear to sit right on her ! It also seems quite roomy, so that could be why it looks too long at the front!

I am beginning to feel like giving up and sending her for a re root !! But I have three more wig's coming's
two different coloured monique 'ginger'wigs and a monique Faith! and considering I was trying for a similar look to Kendal's Harper whose wig is very curly and fairly short and all of these wig's coming are long and fairly straight! I am not actually doing very well! I just hope one suit's her !

And I must still try and find the curly one!!

All comments welcome.....

    1. Yes, you were so had to try extra hard to break it asap.... although felt a bit guilty about it since you are tied up with looking after your daughter and trying to cope with your damaged knee.
Hoping that you are both recoving well.

  3. Love the colour and length of fringe but sorry to say - does the top look a bit too tidy?
Were you able to do anything about the first, dark wig? Kendal's Harper has, I think, little tendrils framing her face. If it's possible to separate some of the front hair on that one, would it be any closer?

    1. Yes Rosie the colour is nice but the fringe is slightly too long but I could cut that.
At the moment the first wig is waiting in the back ground until I finish trying to find the right one!

  4. I too felt it was overall a little too big for her. Very difficult though when you can't actually see a Sasha Doll wearing that particular make and style.
Perhaps if you asked the collectors whose dolls are wearing wigs to send in a few photographs this might help you in your task as it's a shame to keep searching and buying them only to find that they look disappointing on your Sasha.
As for Harper's wig when I originally asked Shelly for it's info she couldn't tell me as it came in a bunch of wigs as a job lot.

(Half of mine are the Peggy-Sue style older wigs and a lot has happened in this department since then but can take a few photos of the others if that will help BUT they are all mainly straight not curly as you are looking for.)

  5. Dee,

The wig Harper is wearing is a Monique, "Ashley", size 8-9, in Chestnut brown or Brown/black. It can be purchased from Audrey's Doll Gallery.

    http://www.audreysdolls.com/subcats.cfm?Products=products&categoryID=1&catalogID=5&fieldnames=Monique&subcatID=227&subcatalogID=5

Just click on the above address. If that doesn't work, let me know and I will try again.

She does ship to England. Good luck.

If I can be of any help, please feel free to ask.

    1. Thanks Betty. you know the annoying thing is I owned one of the Monique Ashley wigs in brown/black but sold it last year when I sold the doll that I used to wig!
And although The Ashley is a good match I don't think it's as think s the one Harper is wearing but I may have to get another Ashley and try it out.

Off subject Betty did you get my reply re the photo's of your two lovely dolls you sent me?

  6. Whoops! Guess you will have to "copy and paste" the above address. "clicking" doesn't work. "copy and paste" did!

  7. Dee I think the colour of this wig is nice on her, but the top is too 'neat and tidy' looking, which makes it look too obviously a wig. How does it feel? Has it got a finish on it? Only I was thinking if you were to soak it to get rid of that 'finish' that they often put on them, then perhaps it would be easier to pull about a bit to eliminate that 'wig' look.
I can so understand what you're going through because I have gone through this soooo many times with wigs, which is why I have so many of the darn things.
I think I would be tempted to cut this one though, into a chin length bob!!! Send it to me and I'll cut it for you and send it back....the bob is the only style I can do!!!!!

I may try soaking it as it was not that expensive compared to most other wigs.
May cut it to ! or poss send to you, will wait awhile until I have tried all!!!
