THE POWER OF SASHA!

I was talking to Gill before Christmas and we were both saying that we had most if not all the Sasha's we wanted.. I said I was not going to say I would not buy any more Sasha's this year knowing that it would be a lie!
I then thought about saying I would only buy four! Then decided I would say NOTHING about Sasha's or dolls as sometimes a Sasha comes along and well you just have to have her or him!!

Well Gill said NO, she was not going to buy any Sasha's this year...... Gill's will power is much better than mine.........

Oh I thought I'd share Gill's photo's of her two Cora's, the one on the left is called India she's NEW !

Yes NEW she  just arrived to live with Gill but we can understand a new year , you need at least one doll and Gill does like the Cora's and had been telling me last year ,she regretted selling her two, so Tony, her husband,  had bought her the Bella in blue for part of her Birthday present.

I'm sure she'll now be able to stand against the power of the Sasha....................................well after her other Cora that she also bought thinking , having bid on two she'd only win one...well that's her story and she's sticking to it!!! arrives soon from the US.

So TWO new girls in the Nash household and it's only JANUARY 10th....Mmmm but I know she'll be fine...there's only another eleven months to go....... :)

PS  loving Gill's range of  sweater dresses in gorgeous colours, (  available to order.)

  1. LOL, honestly how bad is that!!! ;D
Well I can't talk as although I've not actually GOT two new dolls since the beginning of this year, I have actually placed an order for two...does that count?
Actually, I'm very careful not to say ANYTHING about buying because I'm just hopeless at sticking to plans, so I just carry on as normal and slip a newbie in every now and again.....hoping that people will think it was all planned!

As for Gill's new girls, aren't they gorgeous! I keep thinking that I should get a Cora, then I think not, I'm back and forth like nobodies business! I love them in these bright dresses that Gill has knitted for them, she really is a great knitter and uses the loveliest yarns.

I must make a pair of nice trousers to go with the lovely cardigans and the jumper set that you sent me for Christmas....watch this space! :)

    Big hugs Sharon xxx

    1. Well I'm not sure what's going to happen this year if everyone so far is on a why buy one when you can get two plan!!!
I know what you mean about the Cora's I like them and had one then sold her but keep seeing them and thinking I should have kept her and my Caleb who was such a darling boy!
It was just his eyes were so dark for photo's !
it's all such a performance ! never knowing what to do for the best.... :)
the sweater dresses are so nice that Gill makes between her and Michelle with her batiks, they've brighten up the Sasha's no end and about time too!! :)

  2. I feel just the same about the Coras and Calebs! I buy and then move on, buy and move on, I have lost track of how many I have had over the years :) I have got a Caleb coming, as I think the dark gives a nice contrast to the Sasha family, and if only Cora didn't have a perm your nan would be proud of I may get one of those too later this year to reroot...who knows?! That said I have noticed that the darker skinned dolls are now starting to creep up in value...

    1. I do love the petite Caleb's and the Cora's and especially the dark ones. I have a Caleb coming and he'll stay unless he don't gel!! :) Yes it's strange how they have to put that perm on the Cora's but some are not too tight and can look quite nice.
Yes they are getting popular :) xx

  3. I rather think SS that I bought ONE of your Coras from you a year or so back but alas she has moved on to pastures new....although I did keep her Molly checked pinafore in the process,

I'm NOT buying any new Sashas this year UNLESS the money to buy them comes from doll/s or outfits that I have previously sold on to fund them. Well that's the plan BUT luckily I do have good strong will power. in this department.

I bought my recent T*R*E*N*D*O*N* lad from selling on some of the super outfits but which I had, had for quite a number of years now!

Lovely Coras Gill.... and who look fabulous in your brightly coloured dresses. Happy Birthday!

    1. You did buy a Cora from me, she was an early gently used girl..pretty too :) I will be buying a few dolls until the Spring and then when the VW show season starts I shall be ploughing time, money and energy into that PLUS I have to save for the CnS in October!!

    2. I think if I had your Sasha's Kendal I'd not feel the need to buy more.......unless of course one called to me!! lol
But It's good not to forever be looking and buying :)

  5. So nice!
Some of the Sashas had to be twins, right?

Sometimes I have a strong will and no money
and sometimes there's money left and the will left too :)

  6. Both of the Coras are very beautiful and different from one another. I love the knitted dresses too, so colorful and beautifully made. Well done Gill and I wish you well in trying to keep from purchasing more Sashas. If you make it this year with only 2 new dolls, please share with us how you did it! :) xxx

    1. It's so amazing how two of the same dolls can look so different, due to year of make etc, It will be interesting to see what her third Cora looks like with these two.
Yes it will be interesting also to see if she gets to the end of the year without at least ONE more purchase!! lol :)xx

  7. Perhaps we should get together decide how many dolls we are going to buy this year and have a record on our blogs of how many we have bought as we buy them ...if we go over our anticipated quota we should donate a 'fine' to a chosen charity...that might keep us in check :)

    1. That's a good idea, I'll say TEN.. that way I'll never make it and can save having to give my Sasha money to charity!! Especially as I have one on layaway and possibly another about to come my way.... :)

    2. What a great idea!! But Dee, never say never! You might come across a box lot of Sashas somewhere and you have to save them from unknown perils!!! I will say 12 with one just bought yesterday, I better watch myself, it is early in the month!!!

Oh Ronnie, a question please. If we sell one this year, can we subtract from the total of what we buy?

      Delete
    3. Oh but Ginger , If I found a box of Sasha's surely that would count as ONE purchase ;)

      Delete
  8. I think that would be fine to sell one and subtract it from the total Ginger :)
And I am not sure a whole box of Sashas counting as one purchase would be allowed :)
    So Ginger...you are saying 12
    Dee you are saying 10
I have three on the way...but if I don't gel may not keep all...okay, including those three, I am going to say no more than 8 in total for the year.....
    Anyone else??

    1. I thought you'd like that subtraction idea Ronnie! Some of your Sashas are in and out in a flash! I pass along a few myself and think it is just a part of the "right sizing" process! :)

    2. I like the subtraction Idea too! I am always having to part with someone to help pay for incomer!! So that would work for me... for Ronny her front door's like the RITZ one of those revolving jobs and she stands inside , takes one look at the poor Sasha/Gregor as they come round and if they don't 'suit' she sends them revolving back out!! not even a moment for them to draw a breath!! :)

  9. ME!
I'm still sticking to my New Years ruling that dolls can only be bought from funds gained from selling dolls/outfits already here.
Just been and counted them and there are 65 out on display ( the target of only having 60 by Christmas must have flown out oif the window).... plus one bought last year but hidden away for the birthday.)
SO IF these 66 increase during 2015 I'll willingly donate to a Charity.

  10. May I suggest a charity for you all to donate to?
It's the Sharon Humphreys Dolly Adoption Charity, registered number 0000000h!
It's a very good cause, it gives home for a small fee, to dolls that are looking for somewhere new to live. The dolls are always treated kindly and fairly, have full run of the garden, visits to the coast and regular meals....they also get to try out and model new outfits, so showing off their lovely selves to others. It really is a great charity! :)
Obviously I'm only suggesting this charity out of the goodness of my most generous heart! ;)
    Big hugs Sharon xxx
