HATS , HATS HATS GLORIOUS HATS.......

Well what a treat was awaiting me tonight when I checked my emails and came across some from Ellen Church with photo's of the hats she made last winter for her Sasha's and Gregor's.

Well after looking at these beautiful hats, I had to stop Hattie from booking her ticket to visit Ellen so that she could examine these wonderful creations and chat with Ellen about colour and design.
Hattie is still grumbling up in her bed!!

Let me show those of you have not seen them, some of these creations!

First up is a box of hats and gloves.Such wonderful colours, we love colour in this Village!.

So pretty and colourful .

One of the boys in a lovely hat with cable edging.

Love this blue and white outfit topped with a lovely matching hat.

Great toadstool design with tassel.

Love these colours.

So many great colours and designs to choose from! Love them all but particularly the one on the bottom row on the left, the two with the rabbits running round the hats, all the ones with hearts...well all of them really!!

I love this complete outfit, gorgeous colour topped with a very pretty hat.

Another fabulous coloured set, loving them rabbits...excuse me a moment....

" Hattie !! Cancel that taxi to the airport now!! No you will not fade away if you do not go to see Ellen!
that was a very rude word! Get to bed NOW! before I send your dad up there!"

Now where was I .... Oh yes Hats!!!

Lovely fair isle style on a wonderful No Navel girl!!

I may have to lie down soon, look at this gorgeous no navel wearing this wonderful colour ...

Sigh........

lovely matching gloves to keep their hands warm in the cold winter weather...

A lovely warm red set.

A lovely mix.

I hope you enjoyed these Photo's of Ellen Church's Gregor's and Sasha's in their lovely Winter wear with Hat and gloves lovingly knitted by her......Now I must run....

"Hattie what times our flight ? Have you checked the weather in the US? Will we need hats?........"

    2. What's the difference: mittens and gloves?
(Perhaps gloves are with separate fingers?)

I always love getting more w o r d s, no schoolenglish but really spoken language...

    3. Yes that's the difference Gloves have separate fingers and mittens only have a space for the thumb separately this is the spoken words :)

  4. Words just fail me with all the scrumptious colours and wonderful designs.
    Magnificently displayed on mass.

I do have these photos in my inbox ready to be transferred into my Pictures folder but have enjoyed seeing them here more with the Hattie comments.

Must ask how she gets the time to do all this wonderful knitting. Obviously I mustn't be organising my Sasha time correctly (although I can no longer knit.)
Perhaps I need Ellen as my Sasha project manager as the Brood has been rather sadly neglected since the end of November with Christmas and all that entails?

    1. That is a very good word to describe them Kendal, SCRUMPTIOUS!
I'm sure the brood understand that Christmas must get in the way of Sasha play! I'm sure you'll be back on track soon enough :)

  5. My goodness what a simply wonderful collection - it's impossible to pick any favourite!
I can understand why Hattie is swooning at the thought of them.
Plus I'm really impressed with the storage box in the first picture, that must be something we all aspire to?!

    1. I love that first storage box too! I would love it even more if it was wrapped up with contents and on it's way to me!!! :) lol
I am a very slow knitter and have never knitted Mittens but after this I am going to try and make some for my Clan in time for next winter!!

    2. The hats and mittens are inspirational - what a wonderful collection of all varieties and colours. The wool is very fine - 2 ply by the looks of it, knitted on fine needles too. I'm currently knitting a lace dress in 2 ply, it takes time but it is worth it as the scale is so much better for the Sasha's than knitting in 4 ply or Double Knit.

    3. They are indeed and I am sure 2 ply is best but also so tiny!!! :)

    4. I have knitted with single strands of embroidery thead for a twefth scale dollshouse doll so 2ply doesn't feel so tiny to me though it is to most knitters. I have been looking at the shetland wool website recently at their lace wool and fine scarf patterns but am resisting buying anything until I have used up some of my other wool and fabric, I don't have room for any more!

      Delete
    5. Just the thought makes me want to go lie down!!! I do actually ahve some 2ply wool...but will I ever use it? that is the question......
It is very hard to resist buying more wool but I to am not buying any until I have used up a large part of what I already have.

  6. Unbelievably gorgeous. Move over Sashas - I want Auntie Ellen to make ME one with bunnies on it!

I don't know why I find hat knitting such a chore but this is very inspiring, isn't it? Thank you for showing them Dee and Hattie and thank you for a little inspiration, Ellen, perhaps I'll try again. Then there are those stunning jackets, too......Oh my poor, deprived doll children...

    1. Yes Jenni It is very inspiring!! just hope that the inspiration lasts in my case!! although I cannot see me knitting in 2 ply..is that truly a wool size!! I think 4 ply is way small enough as it is!
I totally agree about the stunning jackets and their stunning colours!!!

  7. I'm now thinking on the second viewing that that might be MY James (who left me to go to live with Auntie Ellen for two years but is back here now) in photo number 6 (the one below the olive green coat and mushroom hat.)
Pity that he didn't come back wearing his coat and hat !

  8. Oooooohhhh *happy sigh* as a friend of mine on Flickr always says! These are just deeelightful! I sooo wish I could knit like this. Does Ellen make all the lovely outfits too? Each doll is so beautifully dressed and so well co-ordinated too. My dolly children are phoning the Spanish Neglected Dolly phoneline as we speak!

    1. They certainly are deeelightful!! :) I believe Ellen co ordinates the outfits on these Sasha's and Gregors although she does also sew herself.
I think the neglected Sasha and Gregor phone lines are buzzing all over the world!! My Sasha Clan are just taking bets on which month they'll actually see me atempt to make one!! so far no ones bid on this year let alone a month in it!!! :)

  9. I take my hat off to Ellen - you have to hand it to her, the mittens are marvellous!

    ReplyDelete
  10. They are ! and so sweet surely quick and easy to knit? she says hopefully!!! :)

  11. Ellen's knitting is superb! The first picture of the box full of hats and mittens is gorgeous enough to make any Sasha and her Mum cry envious tears.
I love all the coats too. I can knit, and mittens are next on the list, but I've never sewn a coat.
Hmmm, am I up for that challenge?

    1. So true, would that not be a lovely box to receive at Christmas!!!
