A HORSE ..... A HORSE !

Down in the deepest of the garden , a horse is wandering amongst the newly turned earth on the raised garden.

Glimpses are caught between the stems of grass.

It must be Major checking out the newly cleared area.

Hold on! Surely that's Major now! So who is this newcomer?

The horses and whinnying and neighing to each other! Maybe they know this newcomer?

"What! " says Toby appearing  " General ! What are you doing here? "

Toby hurries over to the newcomer " General you know that you cannot be seen around here! "
He takes hold of the bridle.

The General gives Toby a look , as if to say When?  Toby stumbles over his words " Soon..soon ..we just need to let Mum get used to the others !"

Toby starts leading the General back deeper into the planting. " I'll bring you some carrots later once Mum's finished in the kitchen " He does not say that Mum's been asking where all the carrots are going! and she hopes Lucas is not feeding them to the wild rabbits !

"Erik and Robin are going to love you honest ! They will ! " he moves on " I so want to show you to them but not yet " The General snorts in disbelief .
Toby and the General vanish into the gardens with Toby reassuring the large horse that all will be well soon...he just needs some time.....

  1. Love the General and this story too! A good reason to have a kid like Lucas around is that he will be the first one who gets the blame for ay mischief in the house. The others can get away with a lot as long as Lucas continues his antics. Way to go Toby, keep up with the carrots! :) xxx

    1. Yes poor old Lucas gets blamed for everything! No wonder he's always being naughty!! He probably thinks if I'm going to get in trouble I might as well be bad!! :)
That Toby had better not 'find' any more horses! :)xx

  2. Dee, you are definitely on a roll collecting horses! I hope Paul has started building a large stable, if the Gregors in the Village keep on finding horses and bringing them home you might as well start your own private race course.

  3. I was thinking more of a livery (a place for the care and feeding of horses for pay) or riding school!
If the latter I can see quite a few of my Brood wanting to come over and have a Riding holiday over there!
Both are hard work, although many willing and voluntary (Sasha Doll?) hands will hopefully make it lighter) .... but excellent future Sasha money makers.

Loving the 'New Grasses' bed setting for this post as it's certainly working well as a camouflaged landscape for the latest 'horse-y' addition ....but Toby he will need access to some grass grazing in the 'Flower' garden room....perhaps the best and least noticeable time would be when Mrs Mum's at work or in the evening when she's on the computer for several hours!

Smiled at the choice of two of their names, 'Major-General.' Good thinking here....as always!

Toby, if Mrs Mum's kitchen runs out of carrots don't forget about the apple tree in the garden (won't be quite so noticeable with their disappearances.... but not too many as it will give him colic.) Remember to cut them up into quarters and remove the metal 'snaffle bit' in his mouth before giving them to him.

I too can see a large wooden stable, with at least three separate stalls with stable doors, not to mention various styled 'jumps' being added to Paul's never ending carpentry list.

Fab post, right up my previously past street!

    1. That's sounds like an idea Kendal! At least that way they may pay towards their keep! Mind you with the Sasha's and Gregors in this village other 'paying' riders would probably have to queue!!

I'm sure that Toby's taking those horses all over my poor garden and letting them eat anything they like! He'd best hope they don't trample his Dad's new grasses or he'll be in big trouble ! MInd you he could try offering Paul the waste for his roses!!!

I hope Paul can see that large wooden stable with stalls etc :)

Glad you are enjoying these new arrivals :)

  4. Oh Dee, you're being overrun with horses!!! Another nice one but my goodness, Mrs Mum is going to have kittens (more mouths to feed?) when she sees you've brought another one home Toby!
I really enjoyed seeing these photos Dee, you must have had to get right down in the dirt to take them....and well worth it, me thinks!

    1. So it would appear! And this one is even bigger than the last two! Don't mention the word K*****s or who knows how many will suddenly turn up!!
These photo's were quite easy to take due to that section of the garden being raised it was more a case of having to keep climbing up to move them and walking in the earth!!
Glad you enjoyed it hugs Dee xxx
