THERE'S ALWAYS ONE!

It happens every year! Well it does in this house! After everything is packed away and put back up in the loft so it decides to make it's self known!

I'm sure you have all guessed what I am talking about by now and you are correct! There is always ONE Christmas decoration left lying about!

This years is one of the baubles from the Christmas tree! We packed, or so we thought, all the decorations from the tree away and put them in the loft. But left the tree up to put away the next day, which is when we found the green Bauble!
Bobbie is studying it as she likes the colour!.

Bobbie says she'll look after it until the next Christmas arrives but I am not sure! I may get Paul to get the box back down and tuck it away in case it gets broken after all eleven months is a long time.

Poor Bobbie is finally getting some attention! She's been in the clothes she was changed into since she arrived but now she's had a change of clothes and joined the family downstairs.

The other day when I saw sorting out the boys clothing I was left with a beautiful pair of purple cords by Ginny ( A Passion for Sasha, on etsy ) and I left them to one side to put on one of the girls.
Then I was up trying to sort out some things to sell that I never use for the dolls when I came across this lovely purple winter sweater and hat set Gill made for me one Christmas.
I thought it would be a good match with the trousers, so brought it downstairs and that's where they both, trousers and sweater set stayed until today, when I finally decided that Bobbie would look nice in these, so went and found the poor child.

The funny thing is that I thought she'd been called Bobbie but could not be 100% sure so had to look back through the blog for her arrival and check the name, I was pleased to find I was correct as if I forget their names they tend to land up on the adoption market!!

I had forgotten what lovely eyes she has, bad mother that I am, but now she's down with all the others and getting comfy. I may do something with her hair later in the year or I may not but if I did re root her, I would chop her hair quite short again it would just be in a better condition. But for now I love her tatty head ! Maybe I should have called her Tatiana ?? missed a chance there....or I could change her name........

  1. Not sure just how you could forget such a pretty doll for so long but great to see that she is finally getting the lovely clothes and individual attention that she so deserves.

As for the other subject here, the forgotten Christmas bauble, I too have found a tiny silver bauble tucked down by one of the settee's arms BUTeven worse, as in FULL view, a little pottery angel tree decoration lying on TOP of the TV! Both need to join the other decs in one of the three Xmas boxes in the garage before they are misplaced and disappear forever.

    1. I Know Kendal! I did not forget her...well maybe now and then and I did see her laying waiting for attention then she sort of vanished under a few piece's of clothing, you could still see her head, I'd never suffocate her!
Glad to know I am not the only one to miss a dec!! :)

  2. Love this post, as you are again narrating so nicely about these and that- and additonell illustrating your pictures. I hope the bauble found a perfect place now
and Bobby is a lovely girl. (Tatiana? -Mmh. If you ask me, she's a Billie. It sounds more petite to me. But if she was Bobby, she's better stay Bobby - as you 'know' still her name!)

    1. The Bauble is still being looked after By Bobbie until tomorrow when we'll get the box down and put it away!
Billie , nice name :), but as you say I remembered her name so best she stays Bobbie or she'll be in a box and away!! :)

  3. What year is she (lovely eyes)? Shoulder length hair would suit her. But maybe Hattie will want Bobbie to keep her hair waif-like and short.

    1. Her eyes look hand painted but her strings have been changed, so I will say early seventies?
I'm sure Hattie would like her to stay just as she is for her urchin/gamine look! :)

  5. I put my Christmas decorations up on Christmas Eve...and take them down on Boxing Day!!!! Simple, easy, don't forget a thing :)
Bobbie suits being a Bobbie...and would look good with a short hair cut, my waif has got a short blunt cut and I think it is a good variation to the long flowing Sasha locks we know and love!

  7. Poor girl but my dolls can relate for they are all really neglected at some point! I have some still in summer clothes from last year, can you believe it! But at least I'll not have to change them when spring comes which looking at the weather today, can't be too far in the future :)
I like this little girls face and eyes, she's very sweet. Her hair, although a little choppy, suits her very well......mine was a bit like that when I was a child :)
Big hugs Sharonxxx PS Love the sweater, perfectly knitted by Gill :)

    1. I feel much better now at least it was just her...well and a couple of the babies may be slightly cold due to not having the correct clothing!:)
It's strange how although her hairs a right mess it actually looks good on her!! Now if that was me..hedge and backwards comes to mind!!
Yes Gill and Michelle are some of the best knitters I know

  8. Meant to add that I always find things left over.....I just noticed that a big soft Santa Claus is still sitting in the entrance hall, and I've walked past him a dozen times without realising he's left out!!! I'll have to rectify that tomorrow. And last year I left out a musical snow globe.....I found it in the laundry room a couple of days ago, I have no idea why I put it in there last year! It looked incredibly dusty and unfestive sitting there on top of the washing machine....just goes to show who does the laundry here (Brian) as I've not noticed it until now! ;)
    Oh boy!!!!!

    1. Nice to know we're not alone!! :) But you are giving up your secrets not even seeing the snow globe on the washing machine because Brian does the washing...I wonder if Paul would like to do the washing? Maybe not he might stop doing the cooking most days!! :)
