A DAY OF SUNSHINE AND SHOWERS

Today's weather was just what was stated , wet and windy with some sun!.
I love the wind and even when it's wet with it, it makes the air seem fresh and new, just like those mornings when you are on holiday and you go to the door and open it to greet the new day.

This made me wish so much that I was now on holiday and had nothing better to do that explore new places and sit and watch the world go by.

I have felt quite down today, due to things I have heard that are unfair and miss told but I will not air my feeling here, I have more backbone and sense of worth than that.

So after all the rain ,along came the wind! Making it much to dicey to try standing a Sasha, Gregor or bear out in the open and not really feeling the energy for a story I instead enjoyed spending time in the garden.

I cannot remember when this year I have just sat on one of the covered benches in the flower garden and just enjoyed being.

The wind was gusting and even on one or two occasions making the bench move ever so slightly! I had been joined in my peaceful contemplation by Milo our twelve year old black cat. I say black but in the sun his fur looked red and he is starting to get one or two white hairs!!

Milo decided to guard the secateurs to stop me leaving due to the amount of stroking and chin scratching I was required for!!

After a while Paul came into the flower garden having finished taking some cuttings of all our different coloured Hydrangea's. It was a case of one man and his dog with Hamish watching him adoringly while he set about cutting some of the Jasmine and Noisette Rose back.

Hamish came over to the bench and looked up so I tried to get a good photo of his face, but despite me calling him, he refused to look at me properly in case Paul suddenly disappeared !

Milo watched Hamish totally unimpressed with my ability to have Hamish look up!

This is all he would give me! a side view !

In the centre of the Flower garden is a beautiful Blue Agapantus .

Finally manage to catch a view of Hamish even if from a distance, while taking a photo of how tall this Agapantus is.

finally manage to get a good shot of this gorgeous plant.

Having a garden to sit in and enjoy is such a privilege and I do feel for people who do not have this available to them, but just sitting out somewhere in the fresh air on a gusty day can be so uplifting and push away those dark thoughts and blue feelings.
But I am so looking forward to my holiday in September and cannot wait for it to arrive because to me , the wind blowing in off the sea is just something wonderful.

  1. Dee, I'm very sorry to hear that you started out feeling a little blue today, but am glad to hear that just sitting in your beautiful garden with your lovely furry family members around you, you felt better. I completely understand how you feel but would just say don't let tittle tattle get you down...ignore it and move on....
“There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living.”

  2. Unfortunately this happens to us all from time to time but you just have to somehow 'pick yourself up, dust yourself down and start all over again.' It certainly takes it out of you at the time but I always feel that in the long run it makes you a better person able to appreciate the 'ups and downs' of life and those of other people.
My Sasha Dolls often give me this comfort just by being around me in my home especially when my family and friends are unaware of my feelings and sadness. Other times I try to think of all the nice things that have happened in my life.

I've just said a prayer that you'll soon be back to feeling your usual 'bubbly' self as you don't know just how much fun and happiness YOU bring into MY life with your Sasha blog posts, visits and Chat n' Snap events.
Love and take care of yourself from Kendal.xx

I am back to my usual self :) I am not a naturally down person and if I am I don't like to stay there, so will always fight to swim back to the top.

  5. I too am sorry to hear you've been feeling down. People can be thoughtless or sometimes just nasty, but I think that those who hurt the most are those who care the most.
It's good that you have a holiday to look forward to - something nice to think about and the promise of a change of scene.
Remember that the lowest point is the turn of the tide. :)

  6. Oh, Dee
You need a holiday. A real break is due. Any possibility of some time off work and for you and Paul to ignore the world and just do your own thing?
Your posts cheer us all up when we are feeling low. now it is time to look after your own needs.

  7. Dear Dee,
I am days late for this post but do want to encourage you and let you know how very much I enjoy your blog and also your wonderful comments that you make on other blogs. Sasha dolls are a great way to meet very nice people though, unfortunately, doll collectors are not all very nice people. :(

I have had to take a pause every now and then too but always come back because it brings happiness to share Sasha with friends. Thank you for sharing your Sashas and for bringing happiness to all of us!
    Hugs, :) xxxx
